Traveling With a Chronic Illness
Chronic illness can be difficult for anyone and has a wide range of symptoms. Depending on what you have can determine exactly how you prepare for travel. As a sufferer of a wide range of illnesses, I have learnt the importance of preparation. Sometimes it seems like travel is impossible for those that are sick, but it doesn't have to be.

Strolling in the Parks of Riga
The capital of Latvia, Riga is divided into two banks by the Daugava River. On the right bank is the city side and on the left bank the suburban side known as Pardaugava or Over the Daugava. Both sides have lovely, green and lush parks. Some of the better-known ones I have written about.

Moving Into the Future
I’ve honestly thought about living abroad since I was 15. Anyone who’s ever had a Tumblr (millennials) will attest to how beautiful those traveling photos look. You can literally feel the Arizona sun on your back and feel the crowds of applause standing in the middle of the Coliseum.

Beautiful Ocean City, MD
Imagine it. Sitting on the warm sandy beach with a drink and a book, occasionally glancing up to watch the kids ride the waves into shore. Beautiful blue skies with just the slightest ocean breeze keep the heat at bay. Watching the sunset from the balcony of your condo is amazing. This is what my family waits for every year. We love visiting Ocean City, Maryland. It’s about a 5-hour drive from most parts of the Hudson Valley. We usually make it a longer trip and stop at different places along the way.

Puerto Rico After Maria
From mid-September to early October of 2017, Puerto Rico suffered from a category 5 hurricane that left the country devastated. Since then, the community has had to band together to restore the damage caused by the relentless hurricane Maria. Despite being a United States Territory, Puerto Rico received very minimal support from the US government in the restoration process. Donations from overseas have spearheaded the reconstruction of the beautiful country.

Why We Travel. Top Story - June 2018.
My Story At nineteen years old I left the country for the first time — destination: Brazil. I was heading off to the Amazon River to travel on a boat for a month with a group of friends hoping to change the world. On the flight home, I knew that the one thing that had been drastically changed wasn't the world at all; it was me.

So You Want To Go To London...
Henry VIII and his six wives, depicted in a Showtime series entitled The Tudors, is what started my Anglophilia. I had never heard of this infamous time in British history, so I embarked on an independent study of Britain's culture and history. All the while, I was promising myself that I would one day see all that I had studied with my own eyes. Ten years later, I was finally able to make the trip to England, specifically to London. I made a list of all the places of interest I wanted to visit (mostly historically Tudor). I had several British travel publications to aid in my planning and I had gorged myself on documentaries. When the time came to leave for London, there was no one who could tell me that I was not completely prepared. Looking back on it now, I was only about 60% ready for what was to come.

Adventures from the Back of a Cop Car in Cusco, Peru
If you know me, you will find this recollection to be (hopefully) amusing, and not entirely unexpected. If you don't know me, you will most likely just be worried for me and my well being as I go forward in life. Which is okay, because so am I. First, some light backstory to get you warmed up for the traumatic events to come. I travelled to Cusco, Peru for 5 weeks to volunteer after my second year of university. I arrived on Sunday, May 6th after what genuinely felt like 3 years of travelling. Also keep in mind a huge language barrier. By huge, I mean I, at this point, could maybe count to 10 in Spanish. And that was on a good day. Anyway, I got to my volunteer centre and got all my information, the address of the house I would be staying at, the names and background of the couple I would be staying with and my volunteer placement. Also a map. The man behind the counter asked me if I needed him to mark on the map where my house was. I, being me, said no and that I could do it myself, which I did. Then I took a taxi to the house, a bright pink home with a tall white gate surrounding it. After this I took a bus with my housemates to get lunch before my volunteer orientation at 2pm. I brought only my wallet and phone because what else would I need?
