Breaking Free
I had dreams for 2020. Dreams of travel, both near and far. Dreams of finding myself in some foreign landscape previously only seen on television. Dreams of stepping out of the predictability of a corporate role and into a lifestyle I created for myself.

Better Days to Come
When thinking of all the things I plan to do when it is possible to do them, there are so many choices. I already have a bucket list, which seems to get longer as I add two things each time I tick off one. My family and I have so many ideas from a meal at our favourite pub to holidays to helicopter rides. I've thought about how nice it would be to revisit the warm, sandy beaches and clear blue water of Mallorca but, just as much, I would love to enjoy some of our more local spots again.

Kissed By The Sun
I have a love-hate relationship with the weekends. They take forever to show up and are too short to enjoy. I was having a good night's sleep the night before I will be up before the sun rises. 6 am on the dot I roll over and to look out the window, and I see the sun slowly rising. As I roll on my back to stare at the ceiling, my mind seems to race on what activities I want to accomplish on my first day of "freedom." I'm a planner. My Google calendar consists of every color of the rainbow to color coordinate my life. But today I'm putting my planning on the back burner, and I'm deciding to go with what my heart tells me. First things first, check the weather. I reach for my phone and tap on the weather app to see with the next five days will be. A relaxed and breezy 72 degrees in San Diego sounds perfect. Finally, I can pull out that blue dress that I planned on wearing months ago.

How Australia has changed me
...Back from the chapter 1!: --------------------------------- My last memory of Melbourne was a bit gloomy, sad, mixed with a sense of defeat. On a late afternoon, near the end of November 2014 I was loading my stuff on a taxi that was taking me to the Tullamarine International Airport: my parents got me a last-minute flight back home. 'Damn it'-I repeat in my head- 'What could have possibly gone wrong?- I was so pissed off! And with no desire to go back to Italy, not even a remote one. Anyway, the next day I woke up in Rome once again, in my bed surrounded by things I was trying to take a break from, perhaps, run away from. (not to be harsh, but my emotions were pretty tangled and tense at that time). To be clear, I never had any resentment or hate towards my family whatsoever. It was just that the feeling of stretching myself beyond my current life, trying something new was loud and pulsing.
