Wild Horse Mesa
The San Luis Valley, just north of the Colorado and New Mexico border runs along the 38th parallel in the United States. This area, nicknamed the “Mysterious Valley” is known for its paranormal activity and unexplained phenomenon(much like the rest of the latitudinal line is world wide). It is home to a band of wild and abandoned horses, who can be seen stopping traffic most times you drive through.

Crystal Wave
Before this competition, I don’t recall the last time I had written an article. I’m not a writer, but I do share my art through the result of what my camera produces! Pictures do supposedly say a 1000 words, right? I intentionally did not edit this picture at all, because I wanted to share the same natural, magical, and raw experience I witnessed with those who would come across it. Filters and edits may definitely enhance this picture, but if I had to add those edits- it would have been from a perspective of what I thought was best, and that is not the intention behind this captured picture.

Grabbing Some Sky
My first flight was, well forever ago. Before I was born. At least that’s the way I think of it. But my first real flight took place when I was eleven years old. I guess I should clarify: in my book, a real flight is a flight where you are the pilot. You control the aircraft. Crammed in some tiny excuse for a chair on an airliner with dozens, maybe hundreds of other grumpy passengers who smell of old aftershave and spilled coffee, doesn't count as a real flight. A real flight takes new meaning when you see the ground slipping by, and clouds flow over your wings changing colors with the sun.

We Slept Alongside Avalanches
Katie and I arrived after noon and slightly flustered to the Aoroki/Mount Cook National Park carpark. From what I had read, it would take us three hours to climb to the Mueller Hut, but don't believe everything you read on the internet. It was already 2pm and we ferociously packed our bags for the overnight stay, as my mind subconsciously calculated the hours of daylight we had left.
