Freckles Abroad
I've kept you all waiting over a month to hear what I've been up to. It's been a hectic month! I've been traveling more often and I've been hard at work on my Master's Dissertation. I also finished the third and final book of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. It took me three years to read the whole of it, but it was an extremely enjoyable experience.

A Date up Mt Doom
As we reached the crest of that first hill, up onto the rocky volcanic plateau, we looked back over the short distance we’d come. The ground sloped away, back down the path we’d taken that wound its way through the protected vegetation of New Zealand’s Tongariro National Park. Far away in the hazy distance, we could just make out the peak of Mt Taranaki on the West coast. Turning back to face what we’d yet to tackle, we shared a shy smile, both feeling content in our surroundings.

I AM THE STORIES OF MY LIFE
Onward, what came next? I don’t recall the sequence now, but I bused through the countryside heading south, visited the Isle of Man, watched the Isle of Man TT races at the beginning of June. Have you heard of the TT Races? This is a motorbike race that has a course through mountainous terrain challenging the best of riders. It is a thrill to watch and in 1964 it was Mike Hailwood. I remember standing with many onlookers near a humpback bridge and watching as the riders came speeding round the bend almost touching the ground as they crossed the bridge. It was engraved on my memory.

Diarist: Sea Letters
Letters. What we say out loud, but written. I'm fascinated by letters that capture a specific moment of being; when we sit down to write a letter we pour our presence onto the page. We send a piece of our minds, our bodies in an envelope or a satellite wave.

Old Fat Ass
Old Fat Ass Many years ago I was the proud owner and skipper of a thirty foot sailboat, fondly known as ‘Fat Ass’ in honor of her broad beam. She was an experimental racing sailboat built by a young company in New Jersey to test various racing hull configurations. I sailed her for years on Long Island Sound, an experience I never forgot.

Mount Pilatus - Heaven on earth
Although I am originally from India however, I am residing in Switzerland as an MBA student for a period of 1 year & 6 months. This is my first foreign country experience & before visiting this country I had no idea how my experience would be. As soon as I arrived at the Zurich airport around 7 in the evening, I was excited, nervous, thrilled & kind of confused at the same time like mixed emotions running all over me. I also had no clue where to pick up my baggage from but when I asked the airport staff, they assisted me quite promptly and politely. Then the college car came to pick me up & I had quite a playful conversation with the driver in which we were exchanging some awesome words about our respective countries. It was more like a cultural exchange. While on my way to college I was beyond excited to see the swiss streets, roads, buildings etc.

Waves
When I was seven years-old, my parents sold everything they owned and bought a sailboat. They wanted us to see the world, before it was gone. The ship was an O’Day 37 CC manufactured in 1978. O’Day was one of the most successful sailboat builders in the USA. Founded in 1958 by George O'Day, an American Olympic and World champion sailor. But the company went out of business in 1989, thirteen years before we bought the ship, who we’d later name Starshine III. It had a centre cockpit (CC), with a cabin at the back for my parents, the main cabin in which my brother slept on the couch and a v-birth at the tip of the ship where I rested with my little sister. It also had a wooden trim that my parents adored. It contrasted the beige-white plexiglass hull. Our deep blue canvas covers looked regal next to the wooden accent, which was purely decorative, and framed the shape of our vessel.
