Walk Among the Ghosts of the Past
Cahawba, Alabama has an interesting history. It was the capital of the state of Alabama from 1820 to 1825 until it flooded so many times residents had to flee. Then for many years, Cahawba remained a hub of cotton distribution. The town was the home of the Confederate Castle Morgan prison during the Civil War where thousands of Union soldiers were imprisoned between 1863 and 1865 when another flood cleared the town. By the 1900s most of the buildings were demolished.

Got Vaxxed? Head over to these Countries For your Ideal Holiday
After almost no travel for more than a year, we can almost hear our suitcases yelling our respective names, almost begging us to dust them off and bring them. (Soon, sweet suitcase! Soon.) Fortunately, as the vaccination epidemic and COVID-19 control over the United States begin to weaken, we are beginning to see more and more countries opening their doors to tourists. As long as they have got their shots You can also travel to places such as Mexico and the Caribbean, as long as you test negative for COVID before traveling or go into quarantine on arrival. But considering that we are all very close to taking drugs completely, CDC recommends waiting for you to get all the necessary vaccinations before booking a flight.

A Chicago Coloring Book
Chicago is grey - salt mixture on the streets, the cars, your shoes. Corrosive, it does you good one way and destroys you in another. Grey is a Chicago winter. It’s the slush in the gutters, cold like the thousands who walk past the homeless Vietnam Veteran on Michigan Ave without acknowledging his existence. Silver are the CTA trains, enabling people’s lives like hemoglobin through our veins. Metallic grey are the skyscrapers in all directions reflecting off the Bean. But, just like the Bean’s distorted reflection, the grey of Chicago is only a fog that cloaks everything in bleakness. Beyond the grey are brilliant hues – blue and green and yellow and black and red.

Eighteen Days On the Road
First off let me start with the fact that I am 54 and have only been out of state twice that I can remember. Oregon for 10 months, and I drove with a friend across 5 states which we never stopped in any of them, straight to Missoula, Montana, and that is it. So, my husband and I decided as soon as the ban to travel was lifted we were going on a long vacation. We were only going to take about ten days because he works for the government and he didn't want to be gone to long because for some reason he and his friend are the only two who do the job they do, so he was worried about coverage at work. I quickly reminded him that when things went south recently and he was working 100 to 130 hour weeks, they didn't care if he was working himself to death. He literally worked 6 days per week and was on call for the one day off he would get. He does love his job but enough is enough. So, he went to work the next day and made plans (after we discussed it) to take two weeks off, and put in for it that day!
