Jensine Larsen - A Woman Who Inspires: Connecting Women Worldwide for Change
It has been a long time that I have been active in the Women’s Movement. More than 50 years. Along the way I have met, been in meetings with, been in the streets with, read about, heard about, and also imagined the lives of those who were there but without their own stories being known. Many strong, brave and visionary women. But with this call for a story of a woman who has inspired me, one woman stands out, a shining amazon, a woman who has dreamed up the seemingly impossible, trusting her own sense of purpose, trusting that she could make a difference by following her own heart and her own vision of what is possible and what needs to happen. I want to write about Jensine Larsen and how she inspired me. I have read her story, watched her tell it onstage, and was able to learn more when I had the chance to meet her in person. She has shown me what one woman can do to create real change in this world.

A Letter To The Hummingbird We Can All Learn From
Wangari Maathai, In a perfect world the beauty of the environment would shine true. The deep green leaves would sway against the rugged bark of the trees. The winds would whisper mad with passion. You gave us this glimpse of beauty. As time has progressed, I’ve began to see the world in a new light, with roots. Every map you find the waters dance along the page like the deep roots beneath a trees soil. In a way the world is run by roots, roots so deep seeded that sometimes we can’t even find them.

I was sexually abused as a teenager
My mom was always in a relationship. She used to say she was in love with the idea of being in love, but never found the perfect man. Lets face in, the perfect man does not exist. She left my father not long after I was born, and married my first Stepfather Kyle. He was the best and treated me like I was his own child. He didn't have kids of his own and wanted to be a father to me, my father didn't come around much. Kyle taught me how to ride a bicycle, and always told me, no matter how many times I fall down, always get back up. I took that to heart and have lived by it most of my life, my life has not been easy.

Why Hasn't #METOO Gotten Howard Stern?
I don't understand who Howard Stern has paid off? Maybe the King of All Media somehow made a deal with the devil? I just don't get it. After coasting off the talent of Jackie Martling for years and then going to XM where he was somehow less offensive than he was on FM, somehow Howard Stern is now around kids all the time? How is this not setting off radars! How is this not causing huge online unrest! I just don't understand it, try as I might!

Beware Of The Groomer
We've all seen those Facebook post about age differences in relationships, you know the ones asking how old is he and how old are you? Every now and then those post hold comments on how a very young girl is claiming her boyfriend is just a few years older and that he likes her because she is "mature." No big deal, correct? Well the young girl is only sixteen and her "few years older" boyfriend is in his twenties.

We have rights
Currently I am taking a sex , gender and culture course in university and I had a male in my class say that , in the case of the 12 year old girl who was raped and became pregnant That she should not be allowed to have an abortion because the rapist has owned up to his actions, and willing to parent the child once let out of prison ... that maybe if she was on birth control she could have prevented it . Prevented what? Are you fucking kidding me ? She could have prevented being raped? really ? You’ve got to be fucking kidding me

Prosecuted for being Raped!
A 19 year old British woman has been found guilty of causing public mischief in Cyprus for alleging she was gang-raped by 12 Israeli youths aged between 15 and 18 in a hotel in Ayia Napa, Cyprus. The woman had claimed that on 17 July she was attacked and raped but 10 days later the police arrested her after she retracted her statement. This was all done without the woman having been allowed any legal representation and she was coerced into making the statement, she didn’t even have a translator and was suffering from PTSD.
