Motherhood on My Time
I received a text message from my mom this past Sunday, Mother’s Day, that my cousin was pregnant and to call her. I thought it was an innocent thing to inform me that we’re welcoming a new baby into the family and to talk to her only daughter on Mother’s Day since I wasn’t able to come into to town for a visit.

'The Handmaid's Tale' Is Not Feminist Enough...
So apparently Margaret Atwood worships the Phallic Monster called patriarchy now. The whole outrage started a couple days ago when I saw the first article about how The Handmaid's Tale might be too violent for television. That was sort of alright. Still tremendous bullshit, but alright. Now this unyielding nonsense...

Feminism and Fashion
As a teenage girl, I strive for the greatest outfit with my hair on point and my makeup ready for a runway, but I can’t always do that. Society tells girls that we must dress nicely and it’s become the trend to always have your outfit perfect and ready for a photoshoot for your Instagram page. Not only is this stressful for teenage girls but it also plays a big part for women in politics.

Men and Muscles
I quit sports before I began high school but it was a great experience. My team almost beat every other junior high (the other team cheated), I made several friends, I got a little bit in shape, and I made some amazing memories. But there are also some negatives.

Feminism in 'The Great Gatsby'
After reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, I am left a bit surprised by the female characters. Half of them seem to be independent and embracing their opportunities to be something more than a wife, whereas the others seem to be depend solely on the men in their lives and don’t seem to fully grasp their own free will.

What All Girls White Lie About
Telling the truth can be hard. Luckily, it's not always necessary. No, I am not condoning LYING, but I am saying it's OKAY to fib and withhold information here and there about the small stuff. Will anyone die if you lie about your natural hair color? Um, no. Will someone stop being your friend if they found out you lost your virginity when you were 14? Well, I hope not, but damn girl that is pretty young. Just kidding! My point is, even the most honest women in the world are guilty of telling white lies.

Feminism. Top Story - May 2018.
You hear "feminism" and your mind instantly goes into arguing mode. Stop. "Feminism: the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes." This movement is entirely about equality. Not about women being better than men or vice versa. All women want is equality. In the job world, women still get paid less for doing the same job as a man simply because they are women. We get told we can't do certain jobs because it's not what a woman should do. What exactly is a woman meant to do? Has that been set in stone? No. We are all able to do whatever we want. A lot of people still believe women shouldn't be the breadwinner or earn more than a man. Some even still believe women shouldn't be in certain job roles because it's "too much" for them. I say screw all those opinions. I class myself as a strong, independent woman who can achieve anything she puts her mind to. I have massive goals for my lifetime in a field that is mainly male dominated, but I intend to work hard and make my way to the top. Hard work is what is needed to get to where we all want to be. If I work hard enough to get to the position I want to be in, then who on this earth has the right to take that away from me? I try to encourage my friends to work just as hard and achieve everything they want. Positive enforcement is sometimes all that's needed to trigger something in someone's mind to make them believe they can do anything in this world.
