Me, My Breasts, And Their Tape.
I don’t know how to open this story eloquently, and quite frankly, the matter of the subject is one that only two weeks ago, I would have placed within the radical confines of a raw, visceral, and incredibly nerve-wracking experience (to say my spine recoils to the thought of this recollection is nothing short of dramatic), but looking back now, as an adult who has aged over a couple of weeks, I have become somewhat comfortable with airing what I am about to say:

Coming off the magical heels of Black History Month and in the effervescent throes of Women’s History Month, while we should always be sharing and celebrating these stories, what better time than now to continue highlighting strong, powerful, creative black women who continue shattering the glass ceiling in business, revolutionizing the media sphere, and inspiring this generation and beyond.

So, You Finished Binge-Watching Scandal, Now What?
I won’t lie to you…seeing a badass woman on my flat screen who knows the power she possesses and wields it like a hammer is a sure way to give my feminine ego a boost and invigorate me, all from the comfort of my couch. While yes, I may have consumed well past the allotted serving size of Oreos (3!? Really!?) and I may be a lump of old pajamas that I’ve re-worn 3 times while I watch said flat screen, on the inside these characters truly make me feel powerful.

BLACK INNOVATION
Say what?? You want me to narrow this story down to just one person? This was my reaction to this month's writing challenge. The challenge is to pick a black person whom I admire that has been an innovator, inventor, or creator. The actual challenge is there are too many to choose from. Alas, the educator in me wins out yet again. I choose Bellen Woodard.

Beautifully Divine
“The feminine in women (and men alike) enjoys the flow of life and love, revels in the ability to enjoy beauty, nature, textures, colors, and experiences. Fullness is the feminine principle. If you have a feminine essence, you love the chaotic swirl of life, nature, bliss, color, texture, flavor, and communion. You love to relate, exchange, dance, celebrate, adorn and deepen into the fullness of existence.” — Michaela Boehm (Tantra teacher)

Zero Waste Menstrual Products: A Review . Top Story - March 2021.
Menstruation: kind of an icky topic that nobody likes discussing. But we need to talk about it. Every year, womyn in America spend upwards of $275 million on menstrual products alone (4). That's the same amount that Mike Bloomberg put into a digital advertising campaign to target Trump, or the amount Louisiana legislators are investing into a stimulus program meant to help small-business owners with COVID-19-related expenses. That's a ridiculous amount of money and it's paid out Every. Single. Year.

Insanity at it's best
Part 1.... Tears rolled down her little pink cheeks. She was hunched over in a ball in the back corner of the hotel's stairwell. If only the school bus would show up, then she could escape the pain at least for a few hours. She was hiding from him, hoping he wouldn't find her in time. She was only four years old but in her mind she felt much older.
