A Nurse Called Me "Heavy" During My Pap Smear Exam
Yes, ladies, you read the title of this article correctly. (I say ladies because I doubt any guys will read this because "Ew!" right?) Two days ago I went in for a routine pap smear test. And while spread eagle with the speculum inside me, the nurse on the side of me handing the doctor the swabs, made a comment about me being "heavy".

My Pioneering Grandma - A Woman Before Her Time

What Is Lady Like?
When I used to hear the word lady like I'd think of reprimanding, scolding, and, quite honestly, the 18th century. I'd picture women in fluffy dresses with corsets who are constantly reminding each other to stay in their place. I'd think of my mother popping my hand telling me not to move a certain way because she decided to adorn me in a dress for the day. I'd remember teachers in school saying that I wasn't acting like a lady when my sassiness and strong opinion wasn't appreciated. Overall I viewed Lady Like as an undercover way of silencing a woman without out right telling her to be quiet.

OVARIAN CANCER
INTRODUCTION Ovarian cancer screening isn’t as simple as getting an ultrasound. The characterization of ovarian masses and distinguishing between benign and malignant pathology is important both to decrease unnecessary anxiety and enable decisions regarding optimal treatment. Benign pathology may be best treated conservatively or in a general gynaecology unit using a minimal access approach. Conversely, suspected malignant masses should be referred to specialized units for further management. Thus prior knowledge of the nature of ovarian masses is essential not only for the patient but in order to organize clinical services in terms of planning, costs and overall management.

Dear Wonder Woman
Do you remember when you were small and felt like you were so weak and incapable? Have you ever had a moment where you faced a situation and thought, “I don’t have the strength for this”? It’s easy to see you on screen and think that you have it all, but I’m sure you’ve struggled too. You wouldn’t be called Wonder Woman otherwise; your very name speaks to a legacy of triumphing in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
