So Much to Lose
I've been thinking about all that could be lost in my life as a single woman who chose never to marry or give control of my life to a man, as the Republican Religious Right works to destroy the gains we've made as a humanistic society, wherein everyone deserves to be treated equitably and respectfully. I'm sure there are many things I haven't thought of yet. Please add your own concerns in the comments.

Never Go Back
I promised myself I would stay out of this. I'm not an American citizen. I don't live in the United States, and I rarely visit. When I do, the longest I've stayed was five weeks, when a funeral lined up with a pre-planned holiday, extending my original 3-week trip. Theoretically, this shouldn't affect me in any tangible way.

5 Things I'm Gifting Myself to Achieve My Goal This Year. Top Story - May 2022.

The Signs & Day 1 of Their Period
Okay, hear me out. I’m a sucker for astrology stuff. If I see articles and quizzes that tell you about your personality or which colour you’re best aligned with to wear, you can guarantee I’m either applying it to my life or I’m at least considering it. Is any of it accurate? I have no idea, but I’m having a blast anyways.

What led to Roe v. Wade?
Friends, Rarely would I even consider writing a politically charged blog. It is almost considered a downfall to have an opinion one way or another. To have one is to be cast as a 'Karen,' a trouble maker, or dismissed as either a Democrat or Republican as if either of these political party titles makes you a bad guy. With passions running high, arguments for and against laws, regulations, or medical procedures have caused even the best of friends to question the morality lines of each other.

Why "Define Woman" Is A Trap
It’s the new hip thing with the kids these days (if kids were middle age, fear mongers). Asking someone, typically a liberal, to “Define (a) Woman”. Many can sense the trap, knowing the person asking, usually a conservative (no matter how okay they swear they are with their gay cousin), is expecting one of two things; to trip yourself up trying to avoid describing a Cis Woman (more on the term in a second), or to say something they’ll misinterpret as being anti-trans. They did it before with gays, with women, with the disabled, with the non-White (they even did it with some White). It’s a trap; a trap so they can call out “gottem!”.

The female gaze
Through her eyes The term "female gaze" was coined by feminist film theorist ,Laura Mulvey, in order to combat the "male gaze"theories. To say that women don't have to exist in a world where they are under the attention of straight men at all times. Nor do they have to be represented by anyone in a negative or untrue way. To say that there is a chance to be seen as beautiful, sexual, and intelligent human being without being considered an accessory. There is a chance to lead and feel heard. So that women don't feel that they have to subject themselves to the idea that in order to be desired,or respected, they have to take part in the male fantasy. Whereas the male gaze may be focused on sexualizing and objectifying women, the female gaze is the opposite. Being that it focuses on how there is more to a woman than just her body and sexuality. However her sexuality is still a part of her, it's just a small aspect of who she is. Not her entire personality, or reason for being on earth.

Breaking 8 Years of Silence
I want to preface this by saying that I'm really not looking for "I'm sorry this happened to you" or "You're so strong" or whatever other supportive things people will say. I am simply sharing my story because there are so many young women out there that are silent - just as I was.
