2019-2020 Utah Jazz in Review
We are nearing the end of 2019 and the Utah Jazz are currently sitting at 20-12, good for 6th place in the West. Honestly, this year has not been what I had expected for the Jazz. Lots of ups and downs with the team, but in general, I am satisfied and believe that if the Jazz can keep it up, they have a shot of making the Western Conference Finals. Let's take a look at what this year has been like.

Thumbs Up
In the summer of 2015 I took an internship in rural Vermont. Living on my own for the first time, I made sure to bring all the essentials for a summer of learning and growth; lots of non-perishable food items, sunblock, and most importantly my waterski. The internship site resided 400 yards shy of placid Lake Fairlee, and I hoped there might be a generous boater willing to give me a pull.

KO's from UFC 244
Whenever the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) comes to Madison Square Garden, they always pack the card with very good fights from top to bottom. The UFC 244 event this past Saturday night did not disappoint because there were seven KO's or TKO's out of the twelve fights that were in the early preliminary bouts, in the preliminary bouts, and in the main card. Without further ado, let us take a look at the stoppages.

5 Tips to Run Faster and Avoid Shin Splints
As someone with firsthand experience, I can confirm that shin splints are a huge pain both physically and figuratively. When I began running track in high school, shin splints were the number one biggest complaint from my peers and the most common reason for my teammates to sit out of practices and meets. I assumed that shin splints were an inevitable reality of being an athlete, so I never thought about ways to avoid them. When I first got shin splints in my sophomore year of high school, I realized just how disruptive they are and how much of a damper they can put not just on an athlete’s career, but in all aspects of life. So I set out to do some research and see what I could do to prevent ever having to deal with shin splints again, and I’m going to share what I know with you today.

The Ungiven Gift
He was pencil thin and walked with a limp. A thirteen year-old boy with huge yearning eyes, who was always an unlucky patient on the children's floor of the hospital, where my youngest daughter was all too often incarcerated. Curtis had sickle cell anemia, an incurable, painful, and terminal disease that plagues young people of African descent.

Glima: The Martial Art Created by the Vikings
When the Norsemen sailed out of Scandinavia, they quickly cultivated a bloody and fearsome reputation. Brutal warriors and vicious raiders, they were also skilled sailors and navigators, and they established trade networks from the British Isles all the way to Constantinople (where many Norsemen joined the Varangian Guard, acting as the personal bodyguards to the Eastern Roman emperors).

An Important Life Lesson I Learned from a High School Wrestling Match
I walked to the coach and he handed me a sheet of paper with my opponent’s name on it. It was my junior year of high school and I was wrestling in the quarterfinals at the San Diego regional tournament. I was a mediocre wrestler my sophomore year of high school, but after a summer of wrestling, a lot of my techniques finally meshed together, and I was fairly successful this season.

Reasons SISU Mouthguards Are a Must Have in Every Athlete's Bag
The sporting world is one of ambiguity—analytics and data crunching can only get you so far. One must always factor in the human aspect of sports when making an assessment, as difficult as that may be in the ever-evolving landscape of sports.

NBA Christmas Day Preview
The NBA tradition of playing on Christmas games goes back to 1947, the league's second season. While Christmas is a day to be with family and unwrap presents and eat great food, it's a day to watch some of the best NBA action there is. Even though Nike again refused to give us special edition Christmas jerseys for the second year in a row (is it really that hard, guys?) December 25 should still be an entertaining day. So, here's a rundown of all the games that'll be happening and my predictions.

All Fight Fans Should Watch 'FightWorld' on Netflix
I had been waiting for this particular show to appear online for a long time. I'm a fan of Frank Grillo both as an actor and as a person. You may recognize him from movies such as Captain America Civil War, The Grey, and The Purge Series, and a role in Wolf Warrior 2, the highest grossing non Hollywood movie ever. Or you might know him from his appearances on podcasts like The Fighter and the Kid and others. He's got tons of action movie chops, and does way more than look the part.

Best Female Coaches of All Time
Across various sports, female coaches are taking over. It's only a matter of time before the best NFL head coaches include women who have worked their way to the top. Just 10 or 15 years ago, most women had trouble landing positions as assistant coaches, even with impeccable resumes and records, which makes these women stand out. As the best female coaches in the game, their keen eye for strategy and abilities to motivate their athletes bring them a step above the rest. Don’t think these coaches are only within successful college sports programs either; you’ll be surprised to find out which teams these women have led!
