Small Girl, No Pants
The dislike for shopping isn’t just for the heavier girl, skinny girls hate it too. In a world where only 5% of the population can fit into “off the rack” items, why are companies catering to vanity sizes? Companies should be focusing on catering to different body types, not a number.

Socially Constructed Gender Roles
Once when I was 6 years old, I recall a day when my brother and I were playing with our toys while we waited for our mom to finish preparing dinner. My brother was playing with his toy cars and I was playing with my baby dolls. We decided to play with our toys together so I put one of my baby dolls in his toy monster truck and we took turns pushing it around. My brother decided to take the baby doll out of the monster truck toy to put it into another car. However, as soon as my brother picked up the doll, my mom had just walked in the room to check on us. She noticed that my brother was holding the baby doll and exclaimed how cute he looked holding it. This caught the attention of my dad who, unlike my mom, was not amused. My dad snatched the doll from him, “Babies are for girls! You’re a man son so you play with boy toys...Here.” he said sternly as he handed him a G.I. Joe action figure. As a 6 year old girl, I was very confused. I had seen my father hold my brother as a baby and feed him and care for him and show him affection, so why then were “babies for girls” only? This is just one example of how I was exposed to situations in which I was told that one had to be a certain gender in order to do certain things or act a certain way. In this essay I’m going to share with you the concept of the social construction of gender and how this applied to my life growing up, shaping me to be who I am today.

Gender in the Fashion Industry
For so long, it wasn’t socially acceptable for girls to wear jeans. That seems ridiculous, does it not? The fashion industry and societal standards push these rules on us. Why is it that people who identify as male cannot wear a skirt or a dress?

The Truth Behind Dog Breeding
Have you ever seen one of those sad puppy commercials on television with the hungry dogs in the animal shelters? Whenever I see one of these commercials I feel a sudden urge to grab my dog and hug him. My eyes begin to water and heartache begins to take over my emotions. Sadly we humans are doing much more than we may realize to contribute to the high numbers of hungry dogs on the streets and in shelters. One aspect that plays a major role in this issue is the support of dog breeding. Throughout this piece of writing I hope to inform my readers of the unethical and immoral aspects of dog breeding. I will be explaining the great lack of responsibility being displayed when choosing to breed or to buy from a breeder over making the choice to adopt, especially when there are easier alternatives available. I will discuss the overpopulation crisis that many dogs in the US face every day. I will also go on to explain why these dogs are overpopulated in the first place, as well as provide ways that anyone, even you, can help this cause.

Omar's Diary for Saturday 20th Jan 2018
My own Servants were finally able to spend more time around home this Saturday than they have been able to do so since May 2017. Up until last weekend they were fully committed for every weekend and bank holiday to looking after their equines. Equines must be so inferior to felines as they have been so demanding of my Servant's time. Alas now, they are being looked after full-time by other members of the Servant's species.

Weird Things My Dog Does Daily
Where do I begin? I could write a novel on how this quote on quote "dog" makes every day unique. I think I should start by saying we bought him from a farm for £150. We saw a Facebook ad and were initially interested in his sister but he was still adorable.

Organic Dog Food Recipes That Are Super Easy to Make. Top Story - January 2018.
Store-bought dog food these days don't entirely taste great to many dogs. Sure, many of them include vitamins and minerals to give dogs their strength and energy, but are they as tasty as they say they are on the labels? Our dogs are the ones eating them, since we can't test them out. And how many times can you give your dog the same meal everyday? Imagine you're eating the same dinner every single day. It gets boring, right? You can even get sick of the same food. And pups shouldn't have to go through this.
