Why Donald Trump and Elon Musk's Grand Plan Would Never Work as Much as Donald Promised
What's wrong with America is something most people don't understand, and that's why Washington D.C. politics is such a nightmare in 2025's America.
Holy crap! On one hand, kudos to you Mr. President. On the other, what were you thinking? I remember the last time I uttered those words about Donald J. Trump. He was still the 45th president, it was January 6th, and even as a poor Illinoisian who would never have gone to Washington D.C. that week after seeing the days of alerts, I knew that what he said was poorly chosen.
Now, he's the 47th President of the United States, and much like his speech to his on-hand supporters on January 6th, 2021, things aren't working the way he probably sees them in his mind.
Sure, gas prices are stable. But, what happened to "drill baby, drill!" Somebody got back into the office and learned the prior administration, who was against natural gas and oil production in the United States, positioned things so it would be hard to start drilling rapidly. OOPS, that's one of those vague promises that will be hard to keep.
Then, and we all saw this coming if we paid attention, there's the gutting of federal offices. Several thousand people have been cut from the government as Trump's financial responsibility sheriff, Elon Musk, hunts for the waste.
Good old Sheriff Musk and President Trump smelled something fishy about USAID! And they were right! But, they aren't the only ones.
When interviewed, Marco Rubio had this to say.
"Everything they do has to be aligned with foreign policy, and the attitude that USAID has adopted over the years is no, we are independent of the national interest."

People have lost their minds over the USAID issue, from the employees who lost their jobs to the activist judges siding against the Trump administration.
Thank God! Sheriff Musk and President Trump are here to rescue us from the problems at USAID. They were small, but every little bit helps when you're over 36,000,000,000,000.00 dollars in debt.
The news has reported on a myriad of programs financially supported by USAID. What crazy things were our taxpayer's dollars paying for overseas? They were paying for things like organizations in Guatemala being able to perform sex change operations on transexuals. Nothing against those good folks, but it's money paid for with the American taxpayer's funds and it's not meant to leave the country unless it's for something in our best interests. In South America and other countries, several millions of dollars were spent on DEI, Trangendered Operas, Transgendered Comic Books, and $1.5 million for an LGBTQ Jobs program in Serbia.
According to the report, good old President B gave 2.5 million out through USAID, for electric vehicles in Vietnam. Again, nothing against the Vietnamese, but this does nothing to strengthen our interests in the United States. It's not securing us a strategic deal. It's not keeping peace in the peaceful Republic of Vietnam.
Hey, Idiots! Did you think that 330 million was going to cut it? Paying off the terrorists and narco-terrorists growing opium in Afghanistan wasn't going to get people in the region out of the drug game. As Glen Frey said, the lure of easy money has a very strong appeal.
Behind all the grandstanding and grandioseness of Elon and the President showcasing DOGE's findings, and god help some people if they're all ultimately true, rests a simple truth. The truth is that they are being Americans!
What we've become is further away from being America than any of you might think, and it has nothing to do with democracy.
In the grand scheme of things, only 150 years ago, America was a fairly underdeveloped country. The great experiment that is America is still an ongoing thing. Unfortunately, what Elon and Trusk have started, is being taken as for more than it really is, mostly because of the news cycle. America is, and has always been an experiment.
What are Trump and Elon doing that made this not work smoothly? It's pretty simple. They set out to make a change, without knowing what the right way to make that change was. In the case of government, there's only one apt comparison that comes to mind.
You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. Well, we're the eggs, and America is the omelet. What that'll look like in six months to a year is anyone's guess.
One thing is for certain, President Trump's plan for America isn't working out as easily as he might have planned. Or, is it?

Wild Card Weekend Recap: What Happens Now?
I think I figured out why I love Wild Card Weekend so much. It's because it's the first playoff anything of the calendar year. The NFL season starts in the fall, and once upon a time, the champion was crowned either on or slightly before New Year's. The evolution of the NFL schedule has resulted in the playoffs starting just into the New Year, and currently, the final week of the season falls on the first weekend of the New Year, with Wild Card Weekend coming a week after that. So yes, chronologically, the NFL's Wild Card Weekend serves as the first playoff anything of the calendar year.

Be careful of your sources & verify your information. (And yes, in case your wondering, FOX News is less trustworthy than Wikipedia.) The transgender operations funding has been widely & thoroughly debunked. I can't say about the others as I haven't heard about most of them. You are right about two things here, Raymond. First, tackling & eliminating wasteful spending is always a good thing (though we might differ as to what is wasteful & what is not--I dare say Donald Trump considers anything wasteful that doesn't go directly into his pocket or otherwise benefit him in some way of another). Second, they haven't a clue either as to what actually is wasteful (not simply in their own minds), nor how to go about trimming/eliminating it. And sooner or later the pitchforks will be coming for them, because aside from immigrants (or anyone who doesn't look or sound like them/him), the masses/MAGAs who voted for him are likely to be the ones who get hurt the worst.
Elon and Trump trying to reinvent the wheel that has already been tried. For our sake , I fear this experiment of theirs will just blow up in the American faces. Sadly Elon does not care, he is pretending he is an elected government official who knows what he is doing. He cannot even stop a war. Man power is what makes the government efficient but he is eliminating government manpower work force
