What Did Ranveer Allahbadia Say on India’s Got Latent?

It looks like Ranveer Allahbadia brought a viral American trend to India, but it didn’t land well with the audience.

Has India's Got Latent ended?

So a question that has shaken up the entire internet, and put the police to work, the matter has reached the parliament and that question is Would you rather witness an inappropriate family moment every day, be a part of it, or put an end to it once and for all?

Ranveer Allahbadia seems to have taken inspiration from American viral content and adapted it for the Indian audience.

I am a member of Samay Raina's channel, so I watched the controversial episode the day it came out. And to be honest, Ranveer Allahabadia looked overly excited, overly dramatic and over-the-top throughout the episode-totally exaggerated, like a wild cat!
And all this in the midst of what? Samay Raina on one side, and Ashish Chanchlani on the other weren't doing as much drama as Ranveer was.

I started thinking about what happened to Ashish Chanchlani, and why he was not saying anything, then I remembered that he turned out to be the brand ambassador of the Five Star ad - Eat Five Star, Do Nothing!

Let me tell you something interesting. Ranveer Allahbadia raised this objectionable and extremely personal question in that show. Anyway, Ranveer's obsession with 'India's Got Latent' is at a different level.

I have been following his podcast for the last several months and I see him asking every other guest how he likes India's most viral show India's Got Latent, what do you think about it?

After a point, it was understood that in a way Ranveer was, again and again, calling out to Samay Raina and his audience that I should also be invited on the show and that there is nothing wrong in this, every creator does this.

Mythpat himself had come to the show as a participant to perform.

Yes, in the episode in which this Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy happened, Mythpat also came as a participant, it was a surprise for everyone, what a mimicry that guy did, it is number one.

But let's come to the point.

And then after calling out again and again, Samay probably felt that yes, obviously my show would enhance even more viewership, Ranveer Allahbadia is almost the king of the podcasts after Raj Shamani.

But here Ranveer's plan was probably something else.

He is a tiny little version of Ranveer Singh who does weird things for attention.

At the same time, Ranveer is also smart. Whatever has been done in America and has gone viral, he tries to convert it into the Indian version. Where are the Aliens? Is there a Yeti or not?

Do you know where all these questions are from? They have already been asked in an American podcast about five to ten years ago and it has gone viral there. He has brought the same to the Indian version.

There is nothing wrong even here.

It looks like Ranveer Allahbadia brought a viral American trend to India, but it didn’t land well with the audience. I am talking about the offensive and extremely personal ‘Mom and Dad’ question that has been asked on American podcasts and various American platforms for the past ten years.

Now, in America, there are certain categories of entertainment and pop culture that people there are used to seeing every day.

Because of this, jokes on ‘Mom or Dad’ are easily accepted there and also go viral.

In India, even today, parents are considered “Matru Devo Bhava” and “Pitru Devo Bhava”. Even if a friend abuses another friend’s mother, a reply comes immediately. – ‘Maa pe mat jaa’ ya ‘Baat maa tak mat le jaa’.

For those who did not understand, here is your version – "Don't bring my mom into this" or "Don't take the conversation towards my mom."

Now, analyzing the point at which Ranveer had asked this question, I feel that Ranveer's intention was not at all to hurt anyone's feelings, his intention was purely attention-grabbing, which he did and it became so much that now an FIR is being filed against him, this matter is going on in the Parliament.

Now see, Ranveer Allahbadia felt that this was wrong, so he posted an apology video, he apologized that whatever he did was his misjudgment, I made a mistake, please forgive me.

According to reports from Livemint and The Indian Express, Mumbai Police have started an inquiry into Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks on the ‘India’s Got Latent’ show. Complaints have been filed, and police have visited the filming location, but an FIR has not been officially registered yet.

Meanwhile, Assam Police has summoned Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and Rebel Kid for questioning regarding the use of abusive language.

Opinion

Now look, I share my personal opinion, for example, I liked the Animal movie very much. Sandeep Reddy Vanga took the adult category to such a high level that yes, an adult movie can cross 900 crores in India too.

But at the same time, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had inserted some objectionable scenes in the movie which were only for attention-grabbing and only to trigger.

For example, the scene of licking the shoe was not necessary in the script.

The movie is going on well and then suddenly that scene comes.

Similarly, there were many such scenes in 'Animal' which were added only to trigger.

But what did we do? Watched the movie, enjoyed it, discussed it, some objected, some did not… then the matter ended.

Similarly, Ranveer Allahbadia also asked for attention, and he got more than he expected. He soon realized this, apologized, and accepted his mistake. While his question was inappropriate in the Indian context, he has apologized, and perhaps it's time to move on rather than escalate it further.

Now see, every politician and every creator will try to capitalize on this topic of Ranveer Allahbadia but what did we learn from this entire incident?

Everything that is trending in America cannot be copied exactly in India.

If a person just for attention-grabbing cracks a controversial joke on a mom and dad and then says sorry, then the matter should end.

This makes us understand that whatever goes viral on the internet does not end on its own – rather it is pulled. Media pulls it, politicians pull it, creators pull it.

When it breaks and shatters after being pulled repeatedly, then we leave it and hold on to some new 'rubber'.

Amidst all these absurd debates, the real issues – like clean air and water – get lost somewhere, and no one talks about them.

So I will just say this – put an end to this topic, be cautious, and stay safe. Whatever else you found right or wrong, do tell us by commenting!
