Weaker With Independence?

Most Definitely!

Just say no!

The conundrum of the SNP and their need for an independent Scotland and keeping control of the country, post any vote for separating Scotland from the rest of the UK, has always been something rarely spoken about.

The reason this matters so much to this one-vision political party is that, at the moment, they have the power, with the help of the Scottish Green party, to pretty much do what they like to Scotland without having to take proper responsibility for any of their hare-brained schemes.

If there was ever a 'yes' vote for independence, the first Scotland-only election might just see an SNP administration returned, but because of the economic conditions, they would almost certainly lose the next one. They have no experience of actually running a completely separate country. This wouldn't be what is here now, with the get-out always being able to blame the Westminster government when things go wrong.

They would have to take complete responsibility for whatever fiscal calamities occurred. This thought, I'm sure, sends chills up and down the spines of the SNP leadership. Imagine not being able to blame someone else for everything? They haven't got either the brains or the balls to run a country and be prepared for failure.

Nicola Sturgeon would be totally out of her depth politically. She is a lightweight politician in a small political pond. There isn't one politician in the rag bag of the SNP administration who could be considered able enough to lead an independent Scotland.

Ms. Ironpants may strut around trying to look Presidential in her present role as First Minister of Scotland, but it's a joke job. Any one of us with a modicum of common sense could do that job, and do it better than she. Her sense of self worth is so overblown, I'm surprised she hasn't been carried off by a light gust of wind, mostly by her own making.

So we come back to, what would suit the SNP leadership? We hear all the claims made about the need for an independent Scotland. But the reality is the opposite. While the independence debate has to be kept alive to placate the Sporran Legion, and make sure the membership stays faithful to the party, the upper echelons of the party would much rather not talk about the subject.

Independence would be a disaster for the SNP. They love the way things are at the moment. More powers are asked for and given to them, but they don't use them in case they upset the foot soldiers. Money is lavished on grandiose schemes, like the new Forth Bridge. Much like the SNP, the new bridge is not fit for purpose.

It has been built to take the place of the Forth Road Bridge, which could have been used for another fifty years with proper maintenance, but the chance to get publicly and approval from their supporters was too great to turn down.

We find out, after the bridge has opened to great fanfare and by the Queen, that its capacity is not any more than the bridge it replaced. This was explained by some spotty youth masquerading as the Transport Minister; thus... the Scottish government doesn't want to encourage any more traffic on its roads... So, almost two billion pounds has been spent on something that will have no future other than a very long car park. The bridge that was closed due to its "dangerous condition" is being reopened due to the higher volume of traffic. You couldn't make stuff like this up!

The infrastructure on either side of the new bridge cannot handle the amount of traffic trying to cross, so gigantic tailbacks are the result of this very expensive vanity project. Not one word of apology has been heard from Ms. Ironpants or her pathetic minions for this disaster. The new bridge is actually a thing of great beauty and architectural splendor, but as a road bridge, it lacks roads. Only two lanes instead of three, due to trying to keep the budget under control.

The political mismanagement has been off the scale.

If this is an example of how an independent Scottish government run by the SNP would look like, I can understand why they don't want independence.

The next time you see the Great Leader telling the world she will never rest until Scotland is an independent nation, please understand, this is the last thing she would want.
