A change in humanity

We need a change in this world. Have you ever just took a look at the world without looking through the news eyes? If you haven’t you really should I think your eyes would be opened to a new world. This world has been through a lot in the past couple years. We’ve gone through COVID-19, police brutality, police shootings . Let’s take a look into just some of the things the world has been through.

COVID-19 is still happening and we are still suffering but not as much as we were. When the pandemic hit the us it hit us like a tidal wave. Everything changed and before we knew it the economy was shutting down and slowing down. Business were shutting down and people where being fired bc employers didn’t have the money to pay them. We suffered millions of deaths during this time and I’ve honestly never seen a world that was able to take this and face it head on. Hospitals were packed to the max and people were dying at home in the street because they couldn’t get into a hospital. I think Covid 19 was the biggest pandemic that changed the world as a whole. People started coming together to help those in need and it showed a lot more through this pandemic. I honestly am greatful that COVID-19 showed up and that it showed us the things we were missing as a human population.

Police brutality and shootings have been happening since the dawn of time but they are happening more frequently. Let’s take a small glance back at all the young black people that were killed by police brutality or by police shootings.

Let’s take a hop into Louisville Kentucky, Breonna Taylor (26), she was asleep in her bed at her home just sleep with her boyfriend and the police had a search warrant for an apartment but not that specific apartment where Breonna Taylor was peacefully sleeping. Now to the polices knowledge there were drugs in Breonna’s apartment and so when the police broke into the apartment Breonnas boyfriend Kenneth Walker who has a licensed firearm called 9-1-1 and fired his weapon because they believed they were in the middle of a break in. Breonna Taylor who was unarmed was unfortunately shot 8 times by police. The officers involved in the shooting and death of Breonna Taylor were taking off the force pending investigation. One of the officers Hankison was fired from the police department and was charged with 3 accounts of murder. The town of Louisville paid Taylor’s family 12 million dollars to settle a wrongful death lawsuit and agreed to a series of various reforms in the police department.

Lets take a drive to the state of Minneapolis Minnesota and look at two deaths that took place here and only 1 year apart

George Floyd (46), we all know his story and what he went through. George Floyd was a victim of true police brutality. Mr. Floyd was caught trying to use a counterfeit $20 at a convenience store. When the clerk called the cops they found Mr. Floyd in his car and they approached him and said to step out his vehicle. Mr. Floyd was thrown down to the ground and handcuffed and one of the officers Mr. Chauvin put his knee on Mr. Floyd’s neck and Mr. Floyd repeatedly said “I CAN’T BREATHE” and did Chauvin stop no he held is knee on Mr. Floyd neck for 9 minutes and 30 seconds and here’s the thing as Officer Chauvin was doing this there were 3 other officers standing there. Looking at him as he suffocated Mr. Floyd. All 4 officers were fired and charged with manslaughter and Officer Chauvin was sentenced to 22.5 years in prison.

Daunte Wright (20) we know that this young man was just driving with his girlfriend. He was stopped for a traffic violation and they found out he had an outstanding warrant so they tried to detain Mr. Wright. As soon as Mr. Wright was trying to get back into his car one of the officers Kim Potter fired her weapon shooting Mr. Wright in the back. Now Officer Potter said that it was a mistake and that she mistakenly took her gun instead of the taser. Officer Potter was fired and charged with 2nd degree manslaughter.

Something that is so important in the world that humans don’t ever think about it the wildlife population. I’m in a state where I see trees being chopped down every single day. Animals dead on the interstate, and streets. Animals fleeing their once known home and looking for a new ones. As humans we want to expand and build new homes.schools, buildings and freeways but when we do that we don’t think about the animal population and what that does to them. It’s so frustrating to see all these animals being forced out of their homes everyday. Just because there is land to be sold and trees to be cut doesn’t mean to have to cut them find a place where wildlife isn’t popular and go there don’t go where you know the wildlife is popular. Also everytime a tree is cut down oxygen is being deprived we need O2 to survive. You’d think that some people would understand that but the world needs to change because the way we are living now is not working for us. At all the way people are killing others isn’t working for us the way we are over populating areas isn’t working for us. To make a change in this world we have to start standing up for our world.
