Anyone watching or hearing the news of Uganda's disgusting anti-LGTBQ bill would think that homosexuality in Uganda was causing major issues. They'd think that Gay Ugandans were the biggest issue facing the East African nation.

Note: Uganda was recently named the top country for alcohol consumption. Uganda has a rising gun violence issue as well as the worst roads in East Africa.

Ugandan law makers know that homosexuality has nothing to do with the rape of children. Currently in Uganda 25% of their underaged girls are pregnant or become pregnant. The country has one of the highest rates of teen pregnancy. Most of the teens admit to not getting pregnant by boys their age.

In a country that practices polygamy one would wonder why men who can have multiple wives would prefer sex with children.

As a member of several Kenyan & Ugandan groups both of Telegram and WhatsApp one can't help but notice the constant sex posts. There are photos of naked women posted several times a day, some claiming to be school girls. One person posting these photos with the claim of "hooking you up" with the girls.

Gifs of sexual acts, male and female genitals, the posting in one group are odd because it's a so-called Uganda News group. Another group for 'football' soccer news does the same as well.

Telegram has been diligent in deleting accounts that promote sex with anyone of any age. However WhatsApp allows sexual pornography to be shared. WhatsApp being the most used out of the sharing app in African countries.

Because people can leave voice messages, video chat and share anything without being banned from the platform.

For years people have been trying to express that rapists are the ones who need harsh punishment. However since Uganda seems to protect those committing these acts, some of whom are prominent officials even within their own government.

I wish Archbishop Mugalu used the same energy at the press conference to call out Pedophilia in Uganda’s churches other than using children as an excuse to justify discrimination against LGBTI people.

Why is church so silent about the junta’s oppression, repression & abductions?

Paedophiles work their way into the home, usually using a false name and pretense, in an effort to begin a relationship with the child’s mother. Once invited into the home will use his time alone to target the single mom’s young daughters.

There are dozens of NGO's working in Uganda with girls on various issues facing them. Issues which the Ugandan government refuses to tackle. Teen pregnancy and continuing education. Pregnant Ugandan girls are usually kicked out of school, shamed for being pregnant and bullied.

This from a Christian nation that realizes that many of these girls are raped by older men or their own fathers. Shamed for being raped is common practice, shamed for having babies by rapists are also common too.

In the current Uganda there are reports of rape of children and women by terrorists. They have been killing and raping Uganda more frequently. These incidents are also including Ugandan men as well however.

BBC News Africa @BBCAfrica

🇺🇬 Uganda is reporting a significant increase in child sexual abuse and underage pregnancies. The situation is particularly acute in the north of the country where a brutal insurgency has left a long-lasting mark.

Without getting into the moral or cultural arguments, the data show that an unacceptable big number of young people are being sexually abused, heterosexually in Uganda every year. This isn't mythical, or based on conspiracy theories. It is data from the police reports
