Trump: BBC Doctored Speech.
Trump's January 6th Speech Spliced.
One remembers when Trump lost the election to Joe Biden. Trump stood behind bulletproof screens and told his followers to walk down to the seat of government, and he would come with them. He said we must fight like hell when we get there. What followed was a storming of the seat of the government that looked to all intents and purposes like an insurrection. However, this comes with a caveat. Trump never said in his speech, "We'll fight like hell". It turns out that at the time, the BBC spliced together two excerpts from Trump's speech that made it look like he had said "We'll fight like hell"!
The Daily Telegraph leaked an internal memo it had somehow gotten hold of from the BBC. This memo was going to blow the meddling of the BBC in Trump's speech sky-high. Tim Davie, DG of the BBC, has already resigned over this biased fiasco. The BBC CEO has also resigned, along with others. Whether you agree with Trump or not is not the point. The BBC, which is supposedly impartial in news stories, deliberately chose not to be impartial with the Trump speech. A political choice was made by the BBC to doctor Trump's speech to make it look like he was encouraging insurrection.
Admittedly, Trump thought Biden's victory was a scam, but nowhere did he encourage supporters to cause trouble. The act of doing what his supporters did was a choice they made. The buck for better or worse, including the guy who wore a Native American Shaman's headdress, stops with them. And in fact, had I been Native American, I would have been affronted that a European-American was wearing a headdress associated with Native people. The mere act of wearing such a headdress implicated Native Americans.
Donald Trump, who has a history of suing news media outlets, has threatened to sue the BBC $1 billion (it could be more). The BBC, years ago, was a trusted institution beloved of generations of Brits. Now, much of the BBC has become a hotbed of wokery. Take programmes like "Strictly Come Dancing" that programme now has allegations of fixing and ticking every woke box available. In fact, the programme has become so woke that fans have turned off in their droves. Preferring the show when it was not hijacked by the LGBTQ mob. When old entertainers like Bruce Forsyth and judge Len Goodman fronted the show. I am not against inclusivity, such as the inclusion of blind and deaf people, or even, in this series, a Down syndrome female model. What I am against is the overt gay, trans, and other LGBTQ agendas. Yes, I understand they wish to be represented, too, but not the blatant in-your-face promotion of it.
That was my rant. I digress, all news outlets should be objective and not promote their own agenda, but they do. Take GB News, an unshamedly right-wing, mainly Conservative news channel set up as an alternative to the wokery we see on mainstream news outlets like the BBC. News reporting today shows the cracks in our society, divided between left and right. And so, reporting instead of being impartial now reports with a biased left or right agenda.
Society, not just in the UK but in the entire Western world, now reports from left and right agendas. Take Fox News in the US, a blatantly Conservative news outlet and no doubt in the US, there are news outlets equally as left-wing.
Politicians are now extreme left or right in the Western world. Take Trump's MAGA movement and in response, Mayor Elect Zohran Mamdani for the left. In the UK, you see the same thing on the right in Nigel Farage and Reform UK. And the Green Party's Zack Polanski for the left. Where all this leads us and what it will culminate in remains to be seen.
British politicians like Keir Starmer and the Lib Dems' Ed Davey have chosen to back the BBC. Yes, I understand they want to protect the BBC from what they see as foreign interference, in this case, Donald Trump. However, they are not just backing the BBC but backing the wrongdoing of meddling in Trump's speech and unfortunately, that speaks volumes.
