Trump Threatens Endangered Animals with Border Wall
President Donald Trump’s border wall will be a threat towards as many as 111 species of endangered animals. As Trump continues his presidency, his plans to build a wall along the Mexican border are not only affecting illegal immigrants crossing into the United States, it also puts many animals at risk. It is important Trump considers these species, not simply immigration in the United States. These species share the land with humans.

Was America Ever Great?

In defiance of President Trump, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo recently declared, "America was never that great," an unfortunate comment which will cost him points politically. Even his father, former NY Governor Mario Cuomo, would have trouble swallowing it as he was well known for his stories of his family's humble beginnings as Italian immigrants, that America was indeed the "land of opportunity." The declaration made by today's governor is in keeping with the left's position that the country is desperately in need of a makeover, and certainly not in keeping with President Trump's policies.

Dear Donald, Were you always like this? There must have been a time when you were like me, believed that most people are good at heart. That humans have a natural instinct to help other people. It seems you’ve gotten off track... or do I need to get on track? I know this world is harsh, but I really didn’t think people were all for themselves. Maybe you gotta be. I’ve questioned a lot the past few years and gone through things that made me rethink the very deep moral code that was instilled in me at a young age. I had to believe that good people are abundant and bad people are just good ones who probably got burned one too many times. Is it human nature to be resilient and roll with the punches? Or is it smarter to protect yourself no matter the cost and no matter how far down it pushes down as stranger? I wonder how far I’ll get on merely kindness and forgiveness. Sometimes I get angry at those who’ve oppressed me and want to oppress anyone who could be a threat to my happiness by simply caring only about what I need. Survival of the fittest has shaped our planet, has it not? But every time I show no mercy, I hear a voice in my head. It’s an instinct more powerful than the love of power itself. It’s subconscious sometimes and I feel the effects in ways I can’t describe, but I feel it take priority in every decision I make. Maybe it’s love, or grace, or altruism. It’s a knowing deep down the difference between the cheap easy and ultimately wrong way to act and the good and right thing to do.

Trump's Faux Pas
As Trump's Presidency has unfolded, I watched and continue to watch and read about the distress the divide his Presidency has deepened in America. Or as some say, 'Murica.' I have also read as quite a few of his voters lamented, during news interviews, about their choice to vote for him. Why would they? Just because of his promises about improving healthcare, his promises of beating job losses abroad, and they all became broken promises as their hometowns continue to suffer the tariff wars. Never mind that so many white American women have become too comfortable in smacking innocent teenage black boys at public swimming pools or calling the police when a black family is innocently barbecuing. For me, President Trump is like every kid who bullied me as a kid, who taunted me with racist slurs, the men who sexually harassed me later, and even still do today, and who feel a sense of entitlement that turns ugly at my rejection; they are all rolled up into one guy who has been voted into the President's office. Fortunately, the #MeToo movement has come a long way in such a short time. Ebony Magazine did an interview with Tarana Burke, who founded #MeToo for her movement in 2007 to reach sexual assault survivors in underprivileged communities. Since Alyssa Milano has brought a light to the catchphrase, now it's EVERYWHERE! All are survivors of sexual harassment and abuse. Otherwise, I never even would have heard of it, or its roots! Right on, to both women! Sadly, most people forgot who Donald Trump is.

If there's one thing that Trump can be counted on for, it’s lying and not keeping his word. Has this man kept his word on anything that he promised during the 2016 Presidential campaign? Mexico isn’t paying for the wall, the trade war that he initiated has hurt the very people he swore to protect, and he has the most anti-LGBT administration in more than 30 years. Remember that moment during the Republican National Convention when he swore that he would be a strong advocate for the gays? According to former press secretary, Sean Spicer, it was lip service to make sure he was handed the nomination.
