The former chancellor said that she does not regret her decision to this day and that it was the right one in light of the current situation. The low price of Russian gas has also helped Germany achieve economic prosperity. The former German chancellor stressed that Russia was a reliable supplier of energy even during the Cold War when the country was at war.
