Primary Concerns: Joe Biden's Refusal to Debate is Killing Democracy
As the 2024 election cycle commences, the Democratic Party is confronted with a conundrum — should they rally behind the incumbent President Biden, despite his evident waning popularity, or should they entertain alternative candidates who might invigorate the base and appeal to a wider demographic?

When Prejudiced Providers Show Their True Colors
Over the last 20 years or so, a growing number of research articles and media reports have demonstrated that racial discrimination in healthcare is a serious issue. Indeed, discrimination in the healthcare setting is a significant cause of poor quality care among visible minorities in the US, UK, Canada, and other Western countries. This is demonstrated by the shocking racial disparities in quality of care across all medical specialties, as well as the testimonies of patients and healthcare workers of color. Furthermore, the evidence points to a systemic problem, rather than just “a few bad apples.”

The Rogue Scribe's Mental Assessment for Firearm Ownership
More shootings this week in the US. Is anyone shocked anymore? In previous posts, I've gone after broken men who clearly need more than just mental and emotional help. I doubt many sane people will disagree on that point.

Sunak Meets Biden.
Why does Rishi Sunak (at least to me) always look like he is being dominated or manipulated by other world leaders? When he met Macron recently to hand over a load of cash (to stop migrants coming to Britain) Sunak looked like the weaker of the pair. Beyond all the back-patting, smiles, etc, it looked like Macron was the senior figure.

Republicans Can't Quit Trump
An alleged philanderer and tax cheat, former President Donald J. Trump, has announced his candidacy for President in 2024. He is the first candidate to do so. He had a smaller-than-usual crowd at his first rally, and his announcement generated an underwhelming show of enthusiasm from his fellow Republicans.

Wisconsin Republicans Gain Impeachment Power with Senate Supermajority Win
In the aftermath of the 2022 midterm elections, the Republican Party secured a supermajority in the Wisconsin State Senate, giving them unprecedented power in the state's political landscape. One of the most significant consequences of this victory is that Republicans now can initiate impeachment proceedings against any elected official in the state, including the governor.

Dear World Economic Forum
Dear World Economic Forum, You had me worried for a minute there world economic forum. I saw ‘support the middle class’ and ‘reduce income inequality’ and thought maybe the liberals had gotten to you. Once I got to the part about the magic of tax cuts and how they solve every economic and social problem known to man I knew you had only included those as classic leftie head fakes. Nice job not talking at all about who specifically should get the miracle growth creating magic juice shots (aka tax cuts). Obviously they should go to the wealth creators, bankers, financial industry insiders, top economists, CEOs, etc. Basically all the people who make up the membership of the world economic forum. Of course we will want to reduce or eliminate that pesky corporate tax as well. I’ll never understand how anyone could think that asking a company to pay its fair share to contribute to the common good of the people in exchange for the right to operate and turn a profit for itself and its investors could possibly be fair. I mean what the fuck did the people ever do for the corporations. Nothing that’s what, except tax and regulate the fuck out of ‘em. Way to go people, you have hurt poor little corporations feelings, he is going to cry now, are you proud of yourselves, assholes.

“Anti-Woke” - the New Code for Anti-Blackness
Whenever I read the article of a so-called “anti-woke” person, I pick up on the overwhelmingly negative, mean-spirited, and yes, anti-Black energy coming from the writer. This is not surprising, given that the term “anti-woke” – for the most part – is simply a cover for anti-Blackness. Those who describe themselves as “anti-woke” tend to couch their distaste for “wokeness” in terms of a general dislike of left-wing causes; but make no mistake, the anti-woke brigade’s primary obsession is an aversion to racial justice.

"Give Me Four Years to Teach the Children"
“Give me four years to teach the children, and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.” So said Russia’s Vladimir Lenin, explaining the importance of taking over the educational system of a country in order to change its entire society. Controlling education, which includes controlling what books students — and in most cases, eventually, people of all ages — are allowed to read, has been one of the first steps many fascist dictators and governments have taken to fuel their rise to power.
