British couple in their 70s arrested by Taliban.  A British elderly couple, Peter Reynolds (79) and his wife Barbie (75) who dedicated 18 years of their lives to social and educational services in Afghanistan have been detained by the Taliban. The couple was arrested on February 1 while returning to their home in Bamiyan. Since then their children and family have received no clear updates about their condition causing immense concern among their loved ones. Peter and Barbie had been running various educational projects in Afghanistan since 2009 including five schools in Kabul and a training program for mothers and children in Bamiyan. Even after the Taliban's return to power in 2021 when most foreigners and NGO employees left the country the couple chose to stay. Their reason was simple they could not abandon Afghanistan in its time of need.

The Necessary Pain and Adjustment during Government Downsizing
My husband lost his software job twice during Biden's term, so I have sympathy for those losing their government jobs. It is rough. You may have to move. You may have to beg for money from your relatives. You may have to take out more credit card debt and hope you find a job before the next payment is due. You may have to wait for more than a month for unemployment because the government bureaucracy is slow. (Or because you applied too early. Or you forgot to include a signature or a document.)

"Make America Great Again...?" What do those words mean exactly? Every time I see those exact words I ask myself, "Who does that apply too exactly?" How does putting Donald Trump back in the White House make America great? Trump doesn't belong in any business or political office. He should be locked away in a prison cell. Or in a padded room with a straitjacket tied up so tightly that can't move a finger. The 2024 Election was one of the most historic events in American history. One where the right choice was easy and obvious. Kamala Harris would have been that choice. The right choice! But no... America made the choice... And it chose wrong!!!
