corruption
A prime locale to talk bribery, suspect campaign funding, and all other instances of political corruption. The shadier, the better.
Eyes Wide Opened
Lots of talk about Project 2025. Where did it come from? Who leads it? Why now? This article is a beginning, a look into the platform, the people building it, and the verbiage they are using. It is not an impartial telling, because I am not, in fact, in favor of it. But I'm determined to share their words and ideas so you can make up your own mind. A deeper dive into the platform will follow, and be linked to this article once available.

I think I may have to vote
I wasn't upset when they told me that I couldn't vote anymore. I didn't want to go through the red tape to reinstate my voting privilege. I figured there's no way to ever vote for the right person, and I don't trust the voting system anyway. I've had my opinions about my country, the structure, principles, constitution, legislation, and history. I've been watching things change since the Reagan administration. I could recap all the follies of every Presidency I've endured since 1971. But I won't waste your time with my skewed historical summary. Instead, I will just say that of the three "taboos" (sex, religion, and politics) Americans seem quite satisfied taking on religion and politics, but they are still the most hush hush and hypocritical when it comes to sex.

#SunshineFirecracker ☀️🧨
Once upon a time in the picturesque town of Ephrata, Pennsylvania—a place where quaint charm meets bureaucratic absurdity—Jennifer Gayle, known to her followers as Sunshine Firecracker, found herself embroiled in a saga that would make the Game of Thrones look like a Sunday school picnic.

We Salute You EPD 🖕🏻
🖕🏻 Ephrata Police Department: The Salute You Earned Let’s talk about the Ephrata Police Department — a squad that manages to be fashionably late, perpetually ineffective, and laughably out of touch, all at the price tag of over $23,000 a day. Many residents are asking what they actually get for the annual Ephrata police budget of over $8.5 million. Let’s break it down.

What A Farce ;) The Over $23,000-a-Day Circus at the Ephrata Police Department
🎭 Comedy or Catastrophe? You Decide. Picture this: Ephrata, Pennsylvania. A quaint little borough of rolling hills, charming shops, and a taxpayer-funded circus where the ringmasters wear badges.

Downtown Clearwater Library is a controversy
I've resided in Clearwater since 2010. I've worked at many places that no longer exist here like the Steak n Shake on U.S. 19 and the little telemarketing office that once employed me near Ulmerton and 66th. I've also worked for places that still do exist like Postcardmania and Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Gandy Beach (the way it was) is gone, transformed into a mangrove preserve. Our Pinellas County public libraries are either improving or vanishing. The Clearwater officials (regarding the downtown library) decided to go with improvements, but the million dollar ampitheater project came with much controversy including the resignation of a mayor.

Did Donald Trump Create The Apex Of Post-Shame Culture?
New York State: "Never back down": The rich and the powerful are exploiting a post-shame society, and it's popularity is growing. Where once the powerful stepped down, now they hang on for dear life until the elephant in the room dissapears.

Everyone Should Vote Democrat in November
I’m not a Democrat, or at least not a natural one. I consider myself a small-government liberal. We’re so used to hearing “small-government conservative” that hearing something different might ring like an oxymoron to some people, but to my mind, liberalism — which is fundamentally about individual freedoms — organically aligns with a small-government approach. If we could ever have a viable libertarian party, I would probably only ever vote for them, but as it stands, I identify as independent and have voted for Democrats most of my adult life.

The Legal System is Wrong
In April, I was depressed. Not only did I turn 53 years old after a divorce from a 12 year marriage, I was broke, overweight, jobless, on a poor disability check, and lonely as hell. I was desperate for attention. I wasn't on any medication and whether I was hearing the voices (that often talk with me especially when no one else is around) or I wasn't hearing them, I was so depressed I was crying more often than is normal for me. I felt trapped and like the whole world had abandoned me. I reached out to the suicide hotline (988) and when I said some ridiculous overdramatic nonsense, they called the police. The police then baker-acted me and I was hospitalized for two weeks. Do you think that cured my depression? No. It made things even worse.

47 and Fifth. First Place in The Moment That Changed Everything Challenge. Top Story - June 2024. Content Warning.
Sun-spun choppers bungee over Fifth Avenue. The vultures are gathering for a primetime carcass. The rungs are hot as I climb the ladder on the side of news van. I plant my feet on its roof and shoulder my Sony PXW. I struggle to find focus amidst the clouds of smoke and flares.
