controversies
It seems every time one racially-charged incident ends, a gender or religious controversy takes its place; Ruminate on the issues dividing our nation and world.
Clear and Present Dangers Staring Us in the Face
There are really only two political leaders I trust and their perspectives are very different but they’re both decent, well informed, honest people: Dennis Kucinich and Jim Webb. Coming from the real progressive left, former Congressman Kucinich’s criticism of the current efforts to stage a soft coup against President Trump, with whose policies he does not agree (a perspective I share), has real weight behind it (see here).

The Martyrdom of Jeanne Manon Philipon Roland
One woman, Marie Antoinette, with her excesses, ignited the spark that started the French Revolution; another, Charlotte Corday, attempted to extinguish it with her murder of Marat. Between them stood a woman devoted to justice, republicanism, and liberty: Jeanne Manon Philipon Roland.

Interview with John C. Bednar, Author of 'The People's President'
Author and professor Dr. John Bednar first began writing his political thriller The People's President in the early 70s. His book–written in the scandalous milieu of Watergate and the Vietnam War–posed a fictional and righteous reality in which politics and money did not mix. Bednar's writing was a understated form of protest, a caution against the burgeoning Washington swamp and what he perceived as a gross miscarriage of a democratic electoral system. His book was first circulated among his colleagues and students and was received well; Bednar's ideas resonated with his readers and laid dormant, marinating, for decades to come.

Looks Are Deceiving
The tangerine overlord recently had an article written about him. He was quoted as saying the job of President of the United States is harder than it looks. While half the country knew his happy ass wasn't up to the task, anyone with half a brain could have told you that. After all you have the lives of millions in your hands and what decisions made by both the President and Congress are legally binding. He cried bloody murder throughout President Obama's presidency about executive orders being signed willy nilly. Meanwhile, this half wit has been doing nothing but executive orders since January 20th. You would swear he was ordering from a restaurant the way he has been signing every piece of paper thrown his way. Of course, the republican half wits are happier than pigs in slop cause they basically have a puppet to control. This was until all the town halls they proceeded to do around the country and the people they serve let them have it. The country has been tired of politicians for awhile and now we are a pot boiling over. They sit up there taking away people's healthcare and assholes thought he was going to fix it. What the fuck does the clown prince know about healthcare? He ran a business on daddy's money and hired people to do that. He has probably never really issued a rule truly in his life. But oh the job is harder than it looks. The same man who crucified President Obama about golfing vacations when that is all he has done every weekend since his inauguration.

Societal Maladies
Societal Maladies, How to Recognize and Treat Them, a Hypothesis It seems clear that society suffers from serious maladies that negatively impact honesty, decency and equitable and fair conflict resolution, especially in the United States. Observations during the past decade strongly imply that the cause of such evolving and expanding maladies can, in large part, be attributed to the creation, distribution and assimilation of a related series of very negative memes and memeplexes (see, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memeplex) propagated by and through our entertainment and news media (now in too many cases seemingly not a branch of journalism but rather of propaganda and entertainment) via the quotidian programming we are exposed to on television, the cinema, literature and the media (now including social media). Not exactly an epiphany of course, our grandparents warned their children about the subliminal evils of music and entertainment of which they did not approve (remember Elvis’ hips) but perhaps it’s past time to consider the issue from a new direction.

What To Do If Your State Turns Red
The Republican party has gone under fire from both Democrats and independent voters for the many controversial or downright corrupt movements they have made over the past 100 days. That being said, more people are voting Republican than ever before - and that means that many blue states and swing states may turn red.

How Democrats Are Slowly Winning Over Red States
The GOP's attempt to pass extremely controversial healthcare bills hasn't gone unnoticed by their constituents - especially those who would lose healthcare as a result of the issue. Republican representatives are now getting so many protests, shamers, and phone calls that they're refusing to hold town halls.

Poor Legislation and the Lack of Accountability
Before the Scottish Parliament election in 2016, while watching Holyrood, I had come to the conclusion that the SNP had to either lose their majority or their members needed to be less apathetic and hold them accountable. This was to insure that legislation passed by the Scottish Government was not bulldozed through the parliament again. It had been noted by the former presiding officer Tricia Marwick that the Scottish parliament was rather pitiful at holding the Scottish government accountable and this is the only way legislation is scrutinised by Scotland's devolved administration. Losing their majority would insure that Scottish government would be more accountable, or so I thought.

Deception and Desperate Measures
Today, there are very few people who truly understand the gravity of how serious the global economy really is. The dangers lurking behind cloaks of deception by the media and the power elite remain hidden from the general public. Millions the world over remain transfixed in hopeless desperation. Those that have said desperate times mean desperate measures are due maybe right after all. But, as so often in the past those desperate measures have only exasperated desperate times. As we continue to see, it has always been those behind the media that have always orchestrated a diversion and even a distortion away from certain elements, facts, and news. This diversion by the media is purposely directed to turn national attention away from other news. News that has far greater implications for the general public than what is actually being given the most attention by the press has made it almost impossible now to prevent further financial and economic decay not only here in the United states but around the globe.

Remind me never to get into crafting outside of my home. Or maybe just don't do anything? I recently came across an article where a Colgate University student was under suspicion of having a firearm when in reality he had a glue gun. Yes ladies and gents, a glue gun. Now to add to the ever growing list of what black people or hell even brown people can't do. So now we can't do arts and craft.
