controversies
It seems every time one racially-charged incident ends, a gender or religious controversy takes its place; Ruminate on the issues dividing our nation and world.
The Mounting Tempest
Hindsight is relative in proportion to events that have already occurred. That being said, with the transgressions that the Trump administration has done, many now wonder would the electoral college have voted for the one candidate who had the majority of Americans in his corner if they knew how the Trump Presidency is turning out to be? A historical turn of events would have taken place. It is so sad that today we use the word hindsight in terms relating to what has been going on ever since Trump took office.

"The Daily Stormer" Troubles Not Over
There's a storm brewing for Andrew Anglin, founder of neo-Nazi website "The Daily Stormer." Sirius XM host Dean Obeidallah, who is of Muslim-American descent, is suing because a June 1 article posted on "The Daily Stormer" implied that Obeidallah was behind the Manchester, England bombing at a May 22, 2017 Ariana Grande concert. 22 people were killed at 59 were injured.

The #SupportSystem for #Racism
As many of us are watching the USA's response to Charlottesville, VA, the media has begun to pick and choose what information becomes forgotten by the public. While we all get over saturated with White House quotes and contradictions, I have begun to enter into conversations that (up until recently) I have worked to avoid.

So Wrong They're Alt Right
The first thing that needs to be said: the alt right is just a fancy name for Nazis. Offended, don't be a Nazi. It's as simple as that. I have no patience for those that try to defend themselves with insipid excuses for being hateful, racist, insecure people. One person actually tried to tell me they were on the alt right because of Black Lives Matter. Are you kidding me? The two are literally not even the near the same thing. The Nazis, as they will be called from here on out, think that white is the superior race. BLM was standing up against their children being killed needlessly by police officers. This is the hell the Trump hath wrought and it is so stupid that if it were a movie, people would walk out on it.

An Internal Reaction to an External Issue
It's been 86 days since the Manchester Arena was attacked by a British-Muslim whose name I refuse to type into this article. I refuse to type this man's name because it gives him more publicity than I feel is necessary. It's sickening to think that an attack like this will leave people, more specifically the people of Manchester, England, with the memory of his name and not the names of the lives he took.

Caught in the Middle
In the wake of the events of Charlottesville, I have seen, as well as been, the target of an alarming amount of hate on social media, especially from a group of people that are “opposed to hate.” Due to this, I have decided to say the things that most do not want to hear.

The Silence of Patton
Many times we are taught there are absolutes. What we read and are taught there are certain facts that shouldn't be called into question. In mathematics, for instance, 1+1=2 is a fact that should not be questioned. Many times we are taught, especially in history, there are underlying circumstances where certain facts come into light years and even decades afterward that dispute what we originally thought was true and factual. Some believe in conspiracy theories backed up by unsubstantiated incidents and non-verifiable information. Then there are other times what we think are just conspiracy theories; later on, verifiable information comes to light that suggests that maybe it wasn't a conspiracy after all but certain events really did happen.

Two Missouri Kids Feel Back in Closet After Quote Removal
Receiving the high school yearbook is perhaps one of the highlights of a student's scholastic career. The photos, both goofy and serious, the signatures from friends and teachers, and the memorable quotes all play a role in how everyone remembers their high school experiences.

Kaepernick: The New Ali
If the vast majority of Black people in America (notice how I said not all) do not boycott the National Football League this upcoming season... we are lost as a people like for real for real. Colin Kaepernick, a professional athlete and multimillionaire, stood for something last season.
