controversies
It seems every time one racially-charged incident ends, a gender or religious controversy takes its place; Ruminate on the issues dividing our nation and world.
In Memory of America, On This Memorial Day
On Memorial Day 2022, I’m not mourning those I’ve lost within my family, friends who have passed over the years, or even the veterans who have served. I’ve done that for many years already. This year, I’m mourning the loss of the country I once knew and loved.

The UK Could Face Power Cuts.
I remember as a kid in the 1970s experiencing blackouts. The electricity would suddenly go off and people would reach for their candles. At first, it was annoying but people stoically got used to it and carried on. A dispute was at the heart of the power cuts between the government and energy workers. Eventually, the dispute was settled and the lights came back on without interruption. The dispute brought down the Conservative administration of Edward/Ted Heath. Johnson To Address Ukrainian Parliament.
The resistance and defiance that Ukraine has shown to the Russian invasion have been nothing short of a miracle. The country has paid a terrible price for standing up to Vladimir Putin. Scores of its armed services have been killed and badly injured. The civilian population has paid a heavy price in death and injuries also. Cities and towns have been pummeled to dust by Russian missile strikes, bombing, and shelling. Vast amounts of the Ukrainian population have fled the country. Others remain in hiding or try to carry on with their lives.
