In America today we have access to fairly clean tap water. It was relatively cheap in the past decade for us to have this clean drinking water. Although this can not be said for everyone on this planet and now, even us who are privileged are at risk of losing this precious resource. Water is not a natural reproductive resource and since I was a baby our access to fresh and clean water has relatively diminished. Treaties signed by world leaders to protect our fresh water from being polluted and over sourced for its fish has been broken and there are world leaders that have begun production for oil extraction in the small amount of freshwater we still have today. Water scarcity is the next Great Depression we will face unless we do something about our general oil use and trash programs in America and other leading countries.
Other than oil mining in our fresh water companies are still disposing trash into our oceans. Animals are being found daily with trash around their necks and inside of their noses. We owe it to our animals clean, environmentally safe water. We are endangering ourselves in the way we damage the natural ecosystems. Very few people dedicate time to clean our oceans and beaches and it’s very important to love the earth we have and save it for our all our future children.
I believe if we listen to the energy of the sea animals we will understand the state of sea life and we will see if we keep using oil aggressively and we don’t limit our waste and recycle what we can than our access to fresh water will be depleted before we can be removed from this earth. Personally I love ocean activities, but I could not imagine being a whale and being hunted or being a sea animal that’s endangered because of sea mining. Sea mining is extremely dangerous for ecosystems as well because it drills deep holes into the layers underneath the sea and it causes significant sea pollution. There are many ways we can stop using oil by more riding bikes, carpooling, or sustainability living such as electric cars and growing our own food. Also we can use reusable packages such as glass jars and containers that we do not waste. We can pick products that do not come in plastic and grow our own food so that we do not consistently pick up packaging from grocery stores. We can give away free reusable bags at our grocery stores or include it as a fee of productivity. We can commit more teams to clean our fresh water and protect the whales from being hunted or put into zoos. There is a delicate balance in our eco system and we must maintain and support the sea instead of allowing the carelessness of freewill to kill our sea life.
The World Bank estimates it takes 150 billion dollars a year to clean our water. Three percent of Earths water is freshwater and 1.2 percent of that is drinkable. So therefore, a majority of the circle of life does not have access to clean drinking water. I assume the budget to clean water would decrease if we start now this year. If every billionaire could donate 2.5 billion we would be able to successfully operate a clean water program. And America’s budget alone would be able to successfully cover this expense. We owe it as being the Super power to make this a priority. Just imagine how our animals in the sea and on land can thrive. Imagine all the communities and tribes that could have better access to fresh water, I’m assume health issues would significantly decrease.
