In 1492 Christofer Columbus “ discovered” what he called “The new world”, in other words Christofer Columbus immigrated to what is now the united states and claimed the land for Spain taking this land from the Native Americans. Nowadays people immigrate to the United States not to take something away from the people that live here but to find a better life, that they can not get in their countries. These people struggle even harder when they are not accepted but discriminated against and humiliated. Open immigration might scare some citizens because they think that immigrant people just come to this country to take and not to give. Agriculture, health care and technology are areas where immigrants have been beneficial.

The agriculture in the United States has been compromised once again due to employers not being able to find citizens to work in the farms. Employers have turned to illegal aliens to do the jobs that citizens find degrading to do.According to Mary Jo Dudley- CBSNews”These U.S. industries can't work without illegal immigrants”published on January 10. 2019-”In 2017 research conducted by the Cornell Farmworker Program, 30 New York dairy farmers told us they turned to undocumented workers because they were unable to find and keep reliable U.S. citizens to do the jobs. That's in part because farm work can be physically demanding, dirty and socially denigrated work. More importantly, it is one the most dangerous occupations in the U.S.”

A couple of years ago it might have been hard for immigrants to have access to health care. Health care has gotten more accessible for immigrants now that these companies had seen that they would actually make more money out of immigrant people. Immigrant people used to suffer due to not having health care; some people actually had to face sickness without medication. According to Samanth Artiga and Maria Diaz for Disparities Policy published on July 15, 2019.-’’Health Coverage and Care of Undocumented Immigrants’’- “Undocumented immigrants face barriers to accessing care due to their high uninsured rates. Many delay or go without needed care. Immigrants have been beneficiated with technology and due to most immigrants not being able to find jobs in this new country they have turned to technology. A Lot of immigrant people actually work for the technology industry as inalambric electricity, and in tech companies. Immigrant people have actually been able to continue their studies to open their own businesses. According to Salvador Rodrigues for Inc published on Jan 30, 2017-”Why Tech Companies Need Immigrants to Function”-”This is why the tech industry relies on foreign workers, said Reed, whose organization represents more than 5,000 software development companies, which are based in all corners of the U.S., not just in the San Francisco Bay Area. Additionally, many immigrants who come to the U.S. to work for tech companies go on to create their own small businesses, creating more jobs in America, Reed said.

It's important "that we are able to accept that future business owner who wants to come to American, hire Americans and build a business here in the U.S.," Reed said. "Our entire nation is built on immigrants who come here and create great companies."

In conclusion this country was actually built off the backs of slaves and immigrant people. The fact that these people have not been compensated or even acknowledged is more than hurtful. Immigrants coming to this country build the economy of this country and what they get back is racist and hurtful comments. Not every government has the resources to help their people and people are forced to leave their homes which is actually harmful. Every person has the right for a better life for them and their children. We are humans and as a human being we should be able to help one another because we all are sisters and brothers.
