Moscow's Calling - 34

Friends dealing with the fallout of recent news reporting

This conversation happened on October 17, 2024, after the continuous fall-out from the new Bob Woodward’s book “War,” Trump rallies and new reporting on Stormy Daniels’ settlement.

“Hello, Donnie?”

“Hello, Vlad.” [dry, reserved]

“How are you holding up?”

“What do you mean?”

“There seems to be a lot of challenges to your campaign recently, Donnie.”

“Yeah, and one of them actually comes from you. I can’t believe, Vlad, that they are all harping into me calling you.”

“Like right now?”

“No, like after I left the White House.”

“Yeah, what’s that about?”

“Well, apparently there’s this thing called Logan Act, can you imagine? It says that as a private citizen I cannot speak to heads of other states on my own. Can you believe it, like I can’t conduct my own foreign policy or something.”

“Oh, I see. I told you so many times, I don’t envy you for living in a so-called democracy.”

“Well, it didn’t help when your people confirmed that I’d sent you the COVID testing machines.”

“They had no choice, Donnie. That information would have come out anyway. Remember how you told me you didn’t care if it came out?”

“Yeah, but…”

“But I also warned you that they’d go after you, not me if they found out. And here we are…”

“Well, you know they didn’t really have to tell the world that I sent you 15 testing machines.”

“15??? I’ve got only 7.”

“I sent 15, Vlad.”

“Are you sure, Donnie?”

“Yes, Vlad. I remember that clearly. Your people asked for 7 but I doubled it because I knew how you always want to take care of your health. Besides, you are my friend. I want to be good to my friends. Always be good to your friends.”

“I appreciate that, Donnie.”

“You should check with your people to see who took the rest, Vlad.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, clearly if I sent 15 and you got only 7, someone on your side must have taken the rest.”

“I’ll look into it, Donnie. In exchange, you promise me to look into your mole.”

“A mole?”

“Yes, a mole, Donnie. Someone on your side provided Woodward with information. And this someone knows that you’d sent me the tests and that we continue talking on the phone.”

“I have only loyal people working for me, Vlad. I don’t have a mole. Only loyal people.”

“Well, someone leaked that information to Woodward, and someone on your side who knows all the details, Donnie. It could be someone who already left or got fired, but it’s still someone who worked for you.”

“Ok, I’ll look into it, Vlad.”

“Also, Donnie, this new information coming out about how you tried to silence Stormy Daniels with an NDA again is not helping you at all.”

“Where did you hear that?”

“My people brought me a report, Donnie.”

“I thought it was supposed to stay sealed. I just can’t have Horse Face going around badmouthing me, Vlad. I had to try to silence her forever.”

“There’s only one way to do it, Donnie. I could help but you told me not to.”

“I hate that woman so much, Vlad, but if she is silenced forever everyone would know that I had something to do with that. I can’t have that, Vlad. I simply can’t have that now.”

“As you wish. Also, Donnie, I’m a little concerned with how your last rallies went.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, in that town hall you just stood on the stage and danced.”

“Yeah, there were a couple of medical emergencies there, Vlad. We needed to take care of them. A couple of people didn’t do so well in the hot room. Just fainted, can you imagine?”

“I know that, but why did you just stand there, Donnie? Why didn’t you leave right away?”

“I thought we could handle it quickly and then take more questions. People love it when I answer their questions, Vlad.”

“Yeah, and yet you didn’t. Just stood there.”

“I danced and DJed, Vlad. People loved it. They loved just having fun with me.”

“What are you, God?” [chuckles]

“To them, I am, Vlad. [chuckles] Whatever the fake news media say, we’ve had a lot of fun. It was great, Vlad. They’d better look into Kamala’s health.”

“You know there’s nothing there, Donnie. You, on the other hand, are looking more and more erratic. I’m concerned about the stress you are under. Do you need a break, maybe?”

“You know I can’t take a break, Vlad. Not three weeks before the election, not now. They’ll say I’m weak and scared if I do. So, no break for me, only after I get elected.”

“I like your fighting spirit, Donnie, but I think you are stretching yourself a little too thin.”

“Have you seen her campaign schedule, Vlad? She is everywhere! I can’t turn on my TV without seeing her! She even did an interview on FoxNews! I have to do better than her.”

“But that’s a grueling schedule, Donnie. You could have done it much easier on yourself if you took a second debate with her.”

“I don’t want to debate her anymore, Vlad. She lost the first time, and we’ll leave it at that.”

“Ok, Donnie, it’s your campaign. But remember that the stakes are very high for both of us. I have to go now, but I’m rooting for you.”

“Thank you, Vlad.”

“Bye, Donnie.”

“Bye, Vlad.” After hanging up, “The stakes are high indeed. For both of us.”

An ignorant egomaniac who thinks he is great. We are living in an altered reality. Nice job as always!

This works so beautifully without speech tags, because when you nail the voice stht well you don't need them!

  • The "so-called Democracy" hit hard haha. Another great piece, Lana!

The answer is, he has none, so why not dance for a while? It may have been entertaining for some, but others had to be wondering why is he wasting their time. Oh, I forgot, he is a waste of time, lol. Great episode!!! Lots of drama!

Oh my. I've missed this dancing.

  • Lol, the way Donnie was so confident he didn't have a mole on his side!

  • Jamye Sharpabout a year ago

Once again, funny and frightening if he gets back into office. 😬

Only three weeks... Only three weeks... Only three weeks... I think my brain is going to explode! The polls are so (frighteningly) close. Love the conversations between these two, they are so good! Nicely done 👍.

Excellent, my friend. I've been waiting on this one, and it certainly did not let me down. Great job, as usual.
