A Dire Request
My Open Letter to Bernie Sanders: Bernie, Based off of the incredible efforts we have seen from you in the past, and all of the positive changes you want to make for the future, a majority of us younger individuals believe you have what it takes to save our deteriorating planet from further destruction. You have fought for minorities, marched for equality, defended those who weren't being listened to, pitched your ideas toward a better life for all, and essentially demanded that everyone is allowed to have a voice. You've done all of these amazing things for society, but what we wish for... need most from you now, is your authoritarian stand in the fight against climate change. Too many world leaders tend to make a mockery of the young climate change activists that are doing nothing but trying their hardest to save our environment, and it is unacceptable.

The Gun
Imagine a gun. You don’t have to imagine it, it’s right here in the kitchen, lying on the counter, painfully naked and exposed beneath the dying golden light of the setting sun. The gun looks brand new; black, shiny, unscathed - a classic Smith & Wesson build, almost too perfect. The magazine, full of bullets, lays next to it. You don’t really know where it came from or how it got there, but you can’t find it in yourself to care, and you reach forward to wrap your fingers around the handle. As you lift it off the marbled surface of the counter you revel in the comfortable weight of it in your hand, and it fascinates you to no end. Your finger brushes against the trigger, gently, tentatively. Slowly and deliberately, your grip closes more firmly and you raise it to eye level, the barrel pointed squarely at a framed picture of your parents on the opposite side of the room. It’s well-balanced. You think you might shoot some cans and bottles out on the porch the next day. This is a handgun, but you also have a sawed-off shotgun in the shed, and a semi-automatic rifle hanging above the mantelpiece in your living room, like it’s your most prized possession. Occasionally, you go game-hunting; you think of it as a rewarding and stress-relieving activity.

Two Sides
My “Two Sides” project will be discussing ex-president Barack Obama. In August 4,1961 Obama was born. Obama took the office in January 20, 2009 and left in January 20, 2017. He was seen by many as one of the best presidents to take charge in the US. People love him, for instance, for his kindness and his generosity, like when he cried for 20 children who died in Sandy Hook. People really connected with him at that moment. But on the other hand many people didn’t like him, and some even “blam[ed] Obama for the rising of ISIS” (Quora). People might hate him and people also like him. Some people see him as a great influence and a great president, and others always worry about the mistakes he made. But even amazing presidents make mistakes. Now let’s go into more detail on this.

We Need To Talk About Communism
I’ve been a politically-minded person for as long as I can remember. It’s always been something that fascinated me. I remember being very young, watching broadcast news discussing some politician. They used the word “communist” and I wasn’t sure what it meant, or even what the context was at the time. What I did know was that it didn’t sound pleasant.

Jesse Jackson Disses 'Moderate' Joe Biden, Endorses Bernie Sanders
On Sunday, March 8, 2020, the Rev. Jesse Jackson gave a full-throated endorsement of Democratic Party presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT). This defining imprimatur comes just before both Tuesday’s pivotal primary in Michigan and the Illinois primary on March 17. Both states feature significant numbers of African American voters, who may be crucial, if not definitive, in determining both the Democratic Party’s nominee and the direction of the party itself for the foreseeable future.

White Parents Force Suspension of 'White Studies' High School Course
This world is white no longer, and it will never be white again. — James Baldwin, Notes of a Native Son, 1955 In an attempt to deny the existence of systemic or institutional racism, white parents of students at a high school in Wisconsin’s Delavan-Darien School District have successfully had “American Diversity,” a course on the subject, banned from the curriculum. The parents object to the teaching that “minorities” have been (and continue to be) oppressed by white people.

This is a Warning from the Future
Italy woke up on Sunday morning to find out the whole country was in the future, already. During the night, the government published the most drastic actions yet taken by a western democracy to try and stop the spread of the new coronavirus. All Western countries are observing closely, worried soon they have to follow Italy's measures.
