Please vote as if your life depended on it.
I believe in our democracy and the principal that we are free to make a choice in this election also the power that it represents. It is hard to be optimistic about this election, but now ten days to the election and I feel optimistic. Many who seek to suppress people's vote have been doing just that a very long time. For example, Gerrymandering, voter ID laws, closing polling places in Areas where minorities live. There is so much more interference if you look into it. One day I hope we can have fair and free elections. We need to keep voting for people who care about free and fair elections.

A Review of The Star-Spangled Banner
Let me preface: I am, whether I like it or not, one of over three-hundred million Americans. I have no choice in the matter. Over the past four-hundred or so years, bits and pieces of my ancestry sailed over from miscellaneous European countries to start a new life, avoid famine and war, make a quick buck. The usual. That being said, as an American, I find a lot of the American ethos and aesthetic to be tacky and, generally, awful. At the center of that disdain is The Star-Spangled Banner, a piece of American culture that the people up top blast at every sporting event and ceremony of interest. They played it at my high school graduation, and I was homeschooled, so I’m not sure how Uncle Sam pulled that off. But he did, and I’m just a little bit more indoctrinated because of it.

Why keep up the fight for Racial Equity day after day? This white dude’s WHY…
Recently, one of my best friends — whom I also consider to be my mentor within the vital human Work of Equity & Antiracism — asked me to record a vlog episode with him wherein we’d dialogue on the aforementioned subject of “WHY?”, as it pertains to our ongoing journey within our respective (and sometimes collaborative) efforts to continually battle for racial and cultural equity, both near and far. What follows are just some of the thoughts and feelings I put to “paper” in preparation for our discussion. I sincerely hope that You, my fellow Advocates and Co-Conspirators from all walks of life, can benefit from this in some form or fashion as you/ we continue to march proactively FORWARD toward a brighter future for our people. Thank you for reading. I hope to see you in the Work…

Let's Continue This Conversation
I posted this on one of my social media channels on August twenty-nine of this year, and the reception it received was as expected during that time of evident political turmoil in North America. However, the momentum of such a significant movement seems to be lessening substantially.

Book Review: “The Dead Are Arising” by Les Payne and Tamara Payne
Les Payne spent the majority of his life researching the facts for his books in order to separate facts from fictions and in order to show us the people behind the myths. This is also true for his book on Malcolm X. Now, you all know that I am a huge fan of Malcolm X and that I have a poster of him on my bedroom wall. This book was something I just could not pass over. It starts off slightly before Malcolm X was born in Nebraska and then travels through until slightly after his death in Harlem. Through it, we meet people who knew him, we meet people who were related to him, the Nation of Islam figures, the cops and spies who marked him and even people who met him on the streets. The book turns out to be a factual account that splits the man from the myth and actually shows us how Malcolm X built himself up over the years as a person.

JFK (1991)
In this article, we will be looking at 2019’s book “1001 Movies to See Before You Die” and going through each film in a random order that I have chosen. We will be looking at what constitutes this film to be on the list and whether I think this film deserves to be here at all. I want to make perfectly clear that I won’t be revealing details from this book such as analyses by film reporters who have written about the film in question, so if you want the book itself you’ll have to buy it. But I will be covering the book’s suggestions on which films should be your top priority. I wouldn’t doubt for a second that everyone reading this article has probably watched many of these movies anyway. But we are just here to have a bit of fun. We’re going to not just look at whether it should be on this list but we’re also going to look at why the film has such a legacy at all. Remember, this is the 2019 version of the book and so, films like “Joker” will not be featured in this book and any film that came out in 2020 (and if we get there, in 2021). So strap in and if you have your own suggestions then don’t hesitate to email me using the address in my bio. Let’s get on with it then.
