capitalism won't save you from capitalism
Think about your average problem in life- maybe your boiler is broken and you have to shower in cold water until you can afford to get it fixed. Maybe as hard as you're grinding you still can't afford one months rent so you're staying in an abusive home. Maybe you have fallen into a deep depression because of the pressure you feel to exist in school or work. Maybe your friend got locked up recently. Maybe your father left when you were little. Maybe even, your girlfriends parents don't like you because you're an artist. What if I told you all these things have been ingeniously bred for hundreds of years through capitalism, colonialism, imperialism? Is that hard for you to believe? You may be suffering from capitalism stockholm syndrome.

Pacifistic Activism in a Non-Pacifist Country
The past several decades in the U.S. have been characterized by great racial tensions that have come to a boiling point in 2020. Amidst a global pandemic, a defining presidential election, and a rise in social media influence among Gen Z, the transgressions of our nation are in full view for the world to see. And just like in the 1960s, activists today are faced with the issue of whether they will choose to be a pacifist in their fight against oppression or seek justice and equality by any means necessary. In this debate, people are often driven by their morals in their decision making, but is pacifism a viable means of fighting against systemic oppression in a nation where our greatest achievements have been solved through violent means?

Why I Do Not Trust Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins
Since 2008, Jenkins has implemented the 287(g) section of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA) of 1996. IIRIRA gives law enforcement the ability, in cooperation with the DOJ Attorney General and INS, to detain suspected illegal immigrants and deport them. Jenkins has removed 1400 people from Frederick County. But by his own admission and numbers, only 100 of the 1400 were suspected members of MS-13. If it is true that these were gang members, then perhaps Jenkins was correct to deport them. But what about the other 1300?
