ICC Issues Arrest Warrants.

Warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu, Yoav Gallant, and Mohammed Dief.

International Criminal Court.

Israel is not a signatory or a member of the International Criminal Court. Neither is Israel's backer the United States of America. However, the ICC has finally issued an arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu, Yoav Gallant, and the deceased (according to the IDF) Mohammed Dief.

The charges on Netanyahu, Gallant, and Dief, are crimes against humanity. Both Israel and Hamas stand accused of genocide. Hamas from its actions on Oct 7 2023 when they killed 1,200 (figures are disputed) and took 2 - 300 hostages. Israel for its actions in the Gaza Strip killing 43,000 civilians (Hamas figures).

Many were wondering when the ICC would issue these warrants. Now, that these warrants are issued who will be upholding this verdict? In other words, arresting people who are wanted for such heinous crimes. Some European nations will and regarding others, one cannot say.

The US as would be expected has condemned the ruling. Joe Biden, an ardent Zionist, has said the verdict is "Outrageous"! Also, "Whatever the ICC might imply, there is no equivalence - none - between Israel and Hamas".

Netanyahu has gone down the predictable road of calling it "Anti-Semitic" and "Absurd". So when Israel was bombing the hell out of Gaza that wasn't anti-Semitic? Palestinians are also Semitic, but for some reason, being anti-Semitic is only designated for Jews. Was Hamas being anti-Semitic when they did what they did? Yes, that is the short answer to that. Anti-Semiticism should apply to all of Aramaic (the language Jesus spoke and is still spoken), Hebrew, and Arabic origin. You have heard of the term 'black on black' violence, well, this is semite on semite violence.

The Labour government of Sir Keir Starmer has said it would not challenge any arrest warrants issued. However, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has not commented since these warrants were issued.

The question is are these arrest warrants going to be enforced? Will Interpol play a role in going after the three men named? Will secret service agents who are opponents of Israel clandestinely sneak into Israel or Gaza and smuggle these men out? Unlikely, as Israel with Mossad and Shin Bet has to be one of the most security-conscious nations in the world. With Gaza it's chaotic but Hamas is still operating.

We have seen dictators and war criminals brought to trial in the past. One recalls the trials of Nazi leaders at the end of WW II. Also, the bringing to trial of Imperial leaders of Japan facing justice. Are we likely to see Hamas and Israeli leaders brought to trial? It's possible but I will say on current circumstances - no.

Look at Vladimir Putin who has also been charged with crimes against humanity in Ukraine. Has he faced justice no. Why, because Mr. Putin doesn't venture to nations that will arrest him. Putin was once buddy-buddy with the US, UK, Germany, and other Western nations. Not any more, he knows he would be charged in these countries. So, he chooses to visit countries that are Allies of Russia. China, North Korea, Iran, and China. So based on that, Netanyahu and Gallant (the former Defence Minister sacked by Netanyahu) will only go to places where they are safe. An example would be when Netanyahu flew to the US to make a speech to US politicians.

It's easy to see why some say it's one law for Putin and another for Netanyahu. Both stand accused of war crimes, yet Israel gets all it wants from the West. Putin on the other hand, has all manner of sanctions ranged against him. But if you look at the facts, it's easy to understand why. Israel is an Ally of the West and will back Israel. Russia was never really a friend of the West. Even in those days when Putin hobnobbed with Western leaders there were tensions. Since Russia invaded Ukraine that loose association friendship has gone down the drain.
