I'm Not Surprised with Walmart
Walmart has been a problem and disrespectful to Diversity.
Honestly, I am not surprised with Walmart. In case you haven’t heard Walmart is supporting our soon-to-be president Donald J. Trump. Walmart has decided to part ways with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiative programs. DEI is based on the idea that recruiting and supporting workers of various backgrounds is integral to a company's success, and encompasses policies and initiatives designed to help all employees feel welcomed and equipped to perform their jobs at a high level and suppliers owned by other minorities like the LGBT Community. The program was set up in 2020 after the death of George Floyd, an African American from Minneapolis, Minnesota who was kneeled by on his neck causing him to suffocate to death. Until Trumps' presidential victorious presidential win, Walmart announced that it will no longer renew a five-year commitment for racial equity.
Devasteted? Hurt? Not so much!
Obivously, I am not surprised that Walmart. Walmart has its fair share of racism even sexism.
Walmart has been racist to employees
Walmart employees complained that they are employees who are racist and sexist including the management team. If you look at this video, A Walmart CAP 2 associate (night stocker) from South Loop and Quaker, then 19-year-old Shana Blackwell who was working at Walmart for nearly two years quit Walmart through the intercom calling out some of the employees "perverts" and "racist". She filmed herself quitting via intercom and posted it on Tiktok making her viral.
Another video recorded by a person who was in the store when Shana resigned, also went viral. After her video went viral, she received many messages of support on Twitter, which said that she was very brave to leave her job in that way and denounce the harassment and racism she experienced. Blackwell told Mother Jones that it started off well until things started escalate badly.
"we got paid the least in the store, and we got yelled at the most, criticized the most, watched like hawks the most. Managers would set an example but expect us to follow another one. They would come back and yell at us and tell us to go faster, then walk away instead of helping us.
Then the men started getting creepy. They would say things like, “Take off your clothes,” or, “I like to check you out sometimes,” or, “Look at my dick.” It made me feel really uncomfortable. I’ve seen these things happen to girls in the past, but nothing happened, so I didn’t report it. All I did was awkwardly laugh, walk away, mind my business, and keep to myself for the rest of the day. we started getting more Black CAP 2 associates. They would get fired really quickly—within the first month, or if not the first month, then the second month. They always got fired mysteriously. Specific managers would pick on these Black people and tell them to go faster, and then the next week, they would be gone. Over a year ago, I brought my boyfriend, who is Black, to Walmart with me, and another employee saw me with him. The next day, the employee came up to me and said, “I didn’t expect your boyfriend to look like that.” I said, “Look like what?” and he said, “Well, like a respectable Black person. Most Black people look like thugs.” And he went on and said more racist things. I went off on him, but nothing happened to him, even after a manager clearly heard the BS he just told me. I didn’t talk to him for as long as I could.
Blackwell told Mother Jones, November 20, 2020
Blackwell doesn't regret her decision quitting Walmart nor remorse for blasting her co-workers on Tiktok. Also, another Walmart employee, this time a former Black Walmart employee from Oak Harbor is suing Walmart for discrimination and wrongful termination in a federal lawsuit against the corporation. 71 year old Euxucina Girton who worked at the Oak Harbor store from 2020 until 2023. She was initially hired as a full-time customer service employee at $15 an hour. Girton complaints that Walmart management passed over for promotion in favor of younger white males and then forced to train the men to do the job after she worked as “acting team leader” for months on end without any increase in pay. The lawsuit alleges that a white, female employee engaged in a campaign of harassment against Girton. The woman allegedly told Girton that she hates Black women with power because “they think they can tell her what to do,” the lawsuit states. When Girton complained to her superior, she was told she was being “silly” because the woman dates Black men, the lawsuit states. She also complained that front end coach called her “our little Aunt Jemima” . Aunt Jemima was modeled as a racist Mammy stereotype. She was called that until she was fired. Also, she was accused of shoplifting. Walmart security manager Michelle Keating confronted her with stills from store surveillance video from December 27, 2022, that showed Girton putting items into a bag. Keating told Girton she knew the plaintiff stole the items because Girton’s Walmart app was not used to buy anything that day. Girton replied that she had never stolen anything in her entire life, that she must have used another card to buy the items, and that her bank statements would prove it. Rather than verifying Girton’s explanation with bank records, Walmart fired her on the spot and had Oak Harbor police escort her from the premises, from which she was banned.
Plus I had read on comments section from YouTube confirming That Walmart is indeed filled with racist and sexist employees. Even some YouTubers who has worked at Walmart Gave their two cents on why they don’t like working at Walmart.
Too many Karens
Walmart has been known for a place for Kens (Male Karens) and Karens who like to harrassed people of color. For instance, A Karen from Bentonville, Arkansas was harassing a woman named Eva Hicks telling her to “go back to her country” and calling another customer a racial slur.
Another Karen from named harassed and accused a black man for stealing her son’s cellphone however he never stolen the phone. Her son left the phone in the car the whole time not even apologizing to the man she accused of stealing the phone. We learned that the Karen no longer works at Kaiser Permanente.
And that’s not all there is another one. A black customer was shopping at Walmart in Oregon for a refrigerator light until a white Walmart employee approached him, approached him and racially profiled him. He was asked to leave once he confronted the security associate who is also white. The security threatened to contact the authorities if he doesn’t leave. The customer was identified as Michael Magnum. Michael filed a lawsuit against Walmart for discrimination.
Luckily, The two Walmart employees were fired and Walmart was ordered to pay $4.4 million in damages to Magnum. Unlike Magnum, He isn’t the only one filed a lawsuit against Walmart. According to NBC news, two Black men in Texas filed a lawsuit against Walmart alleging they were wrongfully accused of shoplifting when they tried to return a TV.
Another a Black man in Georgia also filed a lawsuit after being handcuffed and accused of shoplifting by a loss prevention officer at a Walmart in Fayetteville.
Rapper and Love Hip Hop star Trina was seen on video at a Walmart in Florida cussing out a Karen for calling her a racial slur after she claimed that she bumped into her.
Controversial Display
At Walmart in Lake Mead and Poncho, There were dark clothes Dangling at the boys clothes section kind of resembling the black men hanging or pretty much like the KKK or people hanging which disappointed everybody including Walmart customers. The display was taken down.
Oh well! I barely shop at Walmart the only time I go there only for my sons' medicine at the pharmacy. Looks like I am going to find another location. Now that Walmart is ending , what do you think are going to continue to shop at Walmart or say goodbye to Walmart????

Walmart and the Dollar Tree are the first stores (besides 7-11) to get robbed or messed up by rioting people. Don't feel bad, none of them will hire me either and I'm White.https://www.businessinsider.com/supermarket-shootings-america-statistics-grocery-store-guns-2022-6
