Peace Plan.

Egypt has always acted as a broker for peace, whenever, Gaza and Israel have gone to war. Whether that be the 2014 war or the 2021 war. Indeed, all the previous wars that have happened since, Hamas, came to power.

Whether it was Hosni Mubarak or Abdel Sisi, the current President, Egypt usually brings both sides, together. Of course, in all these so-called wars, damage, death, and destruction, are the order of the day. However, in the collateral damage, fatalities, and injuries, it is mostly Palestinians, who come off worst. Israel, has the backing and funding, of the US, so it is able to unleash hell, on Gaza. The IDF is a conventional army using all the power at its disposal.

Whereas groups like Hamas are funded and helped by Iran. Hamas does not have the destructive power of the IDF. Most of its rockets rarely kill or do any damage. Even if they do, it is minimal. Israel's 'Iron Dome System' takes out most of these missile strikes. Although, the Gazans have learned to overwhelm the defence system, by launching many rockets, hoping some will strike a target. The rockets, are more of a terror weapon, sending thousands of Israelis, scurrying, for bomb shelters. The death and collateral damage, maybe minimal, but the psychological effects will be apparent in many. Especially with those already suffering from mental health. Every time, a siren goes off, and Israelis go running for the shelters, PTSD will be present in many, regardless of age. As it will be in the Gazan community.

The horrible attack of Hamas, on Israel, which saw death, destruction and abduction started this conflict. The death toll, on that day, was 1,400, then it was reduced to 1,200, and now it is speculated, it is around 600 - 700. Since then Israel has unleashed a rainstorm of hell from the sky. A land invasion and bombardment from the sea. Gaza is devastated and 25,000 Gazan civilians lie dead. All facilities across Gaza have not been spared Israel's wrath. Hospitals, civilian structures, schools, mosques and churches, and UN facilities, have all been hit.

Many have worried this war could escalate. Hezbollah is engaging in a low - key skirmish with Israel. However, an Iranian Commander was assassinated by Israel and a Deputy of Hamas polit buro. Although this person, was a Hamas operative, the assassination took place in Beruit. The capital of Lebanon, where it happened, is a Hezbollah stronghold. The deputy was about to meet with Hasan Nasrallah, Head of Hezbollah.

Nasrallah was going to make a speech, but, now that the wording will be changed, since the death of the Hamas deputy. The question is, thanks to these events, will Hezbollah, now step up its attacks on Israel, leading to full-scale conflict?

The situation in the Red Sea is also worrying. The Houthis have hijacked and attacked ships purportedly belonging to Israel. The Houthis say they will stop their action, when Israel, stops its action in Gaza. The Houthis, operate out of Yemen, they control much of the country, including the main city, Sanaa. The US has put together a coalition of nations to confront the Houthi threat.

The Houthis tried to board a freighter in the Red Sea. They exchanged gun fire with security operatives on the ship. While, the ship, sent out a mayday call. American helicopters from American warships responded. The Houthis opened fire on the helicopters. The Americans fired back sinking the Houthi naval boats and killing 10 crew. The surviving Houthi vessel fled the scene.

The Houthis have said they will retaliate. The US, UK, and other coalition members are contemplating bombing Houthi facilities. Iran, the backer of Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis has sent a warship of its own, to the Red Sea. Does this mean, as with Hezbollah, in southern Lebanon and Israel, the Red Sea, will become a major battleground?

The West backs Israel to the hilt and will intervene if necessary to hit Israel's enemies. Just as Iran backs its proxies. If Iran becomes involved in fighting the West, what does that then mean? Will China, a friend of Iran, also become involved and Russia?

Egypt, trying to play the peacemaker once more, has suggested a three- point plan. That should culminate, in theory, in a lasting cessation of hostilities. It will include a swapping of prisoners and hostages by both sides.

However, right now, it seems talks, between Hamas and Israel, have stalled. That doesn't mean the peace plan devised by Egypt is dead. It just means, for the moment, is it not happening. Both sides must agree to the plan, but for now, the fighting goes on.
