Democracy in Britain Has Collapsed

Democracy in Britain has collapsed.

Britain is in a state of political anarchy, public order chaos can not be far away.

There are people who are trying—and so far succeeding—to prevent any real legal and democratically approved, governance of Britain. They are stopping the majority view being enacted, they are preventing the people even having a right to vote, in order to change this situation. Those causing the mayhem are trying, by every possible means, to prevent a general election which would enable the people to remove them and their attempts to overthrow democracy.

This is a travesty of democracy. It is a crime against democracy.

This is all being done under the excuse that they do not agree with the majority decision shown by referendum. This in itself shows how undemocratic they are, they brazenly claim they can stop rule by an elected government because they do not agree with a public referendum result. The irony, or sheer madness, is that many of these people claim they are supporting democracy. They use the media to mask the audacity of their agenda, claiming they want what is best for Britain. They use their supporters in the professional media and a constant bombardment of unverified and contentious posts on social media. As all social media posts, there is no attempt at verifiable truth, and opinions get written up as facts and all opposition is labelled as racist or stupid, or both.

The actions by those opposed to the referendum decision, have set precedents for behavior that could make Britain ungovernable for all the future. They have set a pattern, where every decision can be opposed, and by any means. So in the future whatever action a group does will be vindicated if it is in order that a minority view may prevail. The precedent set by those opposing the leave EU referendum, gives absolute right, to any group opposed to a majority view, to disrupt governance, and to prevent enactment of all decisions that the particular group do not agree with.

Let us consider a hypothetical situation where the extreme socialists manipulate the exiting chaos to gain power. The extreme right would simply use the same tactics, that are now being used by those opposed to the majority referendum decision. They would fill the courts with spurious legal actions to prevent the government acting, they would fill the streets with demonstrations verging towards violence and civil unrest, they would sponsor members of parliament and the house of lords, to use every trick to stop the normal working of the government. They would elect a speaker who, just as the present speaker does, ignores all the previous rules of impartiality, they would ensure the business of the house of commons is dictated by the disruptive forces. They would persuade or coerce the media into opposition of the socialist policies, they would swamp social media with half truths, fake news, and down right lies, all to stir up discontent, and ensure that those in government spent all their time trying to counter the disruptions.

In this hypothetical situation it is possible an extreme left wing party would follow the examples set all round the world, by other extreme socialists and suspend the rule of law, suspend democracy, and try to enforce a one party state, an effective dictatorship, on Britain. How long this would last is anyone's guess, but given the character of the average Britain, not long. But a period of intense chaos and anarchy would destroy both the economy, and the social infrastructure of Britain, before democratic rule was returned.
