Charlie Kirk: Gunned Down.
Kirk Speaking at Utah University.

I want to say that all loss of life is sad, whether that person is an unknown or someone in the limelight. And that goes for Charlie Kirk, too. Kirk was an ardent Christian, and as a fellow Christian, I pray for his soul. I pray for his wife and kids, who will now face the world without him. 31 years of age is such a young age to lose your life. Whether you agree with Kirk's political or religious views, he was still human. Kirk was a young person who, no doubt, had a promising career in Conservative politics. A personal friend of Trump. Kirk is the one who persuaded the young and the POC (people of colour) to vote for Trump. Kirk ran a right-leaning group called 'Turning Point'. The group promotes right-wing ideas and events.
Trump made a recorded address to the nation. Trump said he was "filled with anger and grief" after the "heinous assassination" of the right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk. Kirk was shot dead yesterday as he made a speech at a university in Utah. Kirk was shot in the neck and can be seen falling to the ground as he clutches his neck. Blood can be seen spurting from his neck as his life ebbed away.
FBI Director Kash Patel said a "person of interest", to use the Utah Governor's words, had been arrested. However, after questioning, this person was released. A second person was taken into custody but later also released. The gunman (assuming the shooter was male) remains at large.
The US is becoming a dangerous place for politicians and their supporters. Politicians of all hues have been threatened. Trump himself had two foiled assassination attempts, all of which he survived. The US is now divided by the extreme left and right, and is a boiling cauldron of divisive views.
Kirk's haters will be glad he has gone, and those who adored him will be in mourning. Kirk will no doubt be regarded by his followers as a martyr for all he stood for. Whether that be his expressed Christian faith or his political beliefs. His haters will see it as one less right-wing person to deal with. However, I repeat, regardless of politics or religion, Kirk was a human like the rest of us, and whoever we are and whatever we stand for as human beings, we all suffer and we will all meet our end.
Politicians in the US and around the world have sent their condolences. Trump did as stated earlier. Biden, Harris, Obama, and Clinton also added their prayers and thoughts. Abroad, Sir Keir Starmer also said he mourned for Charlie Kirk. So whether right or left, or whether in the US or abroad, they have given their condolences. Putin's office also paid tribute to the right-winger, not surprisingly. As did Netanyahu, who described Kirk "as a lion for Israel". Not surprising, really, as many on the right are ardent Zionists.
Kirk was for traditional Christian values, or so he said. I am not here to judge a fellow believer; I differ with him on some things. However, now is not the time to speak ill of the dead and be disrespectful. As I said earlier, many will lambast him while others will pay tribute. As I have said, that is for them to do, but I will not join in praising him or attacking his legacy.
Charie Kirk was, first and foremost, as I say for the umpteenth time, a human being. Today, repeating myself, his kids will be without a father and his wife without her husband. History is full of folk assassinated for what they stood for. And now Mr. Kirk is one of those fallen.
