Badenoch: Offering Jobs in Her Cabinet.
Badennoch Offers Olive Branch.

We will soon know who will succeed Rishi Sunak as Conservative leader. Two candidates are the clear favourites one is Robert Jenrick and one is Kemi Badenoch. Badenoch seems to be the clear favourite amongst the Tory members.
Speaking to Sky's Sophie Ridge Ms. Badenoch was willing to offer former competitors jobs in her shadow cabinet. Of course, this all depends on whether Ms. Badenoch becomes Conservative leader. Of course, this won't happen if Robert Jenrick beats her. Would he offer his former opponents a job in his cabinet? Would that mean that he would offer her a job? Would Badenoch should she become the leader offer him a job?
Harsh words have been exchanged between the two would-be leaders. For example, Mr. Jenrick said under Ms. Badenoch's leadership the Conservative Party would be destroyed. However, for her part, Kemi doubted Jenrick's integrity. That said, others have doubted Kemi's integrity. Others have called her "Lazy" and "aggressive". Black people are often referred to as "Lazy" or even "aggressive". So, Ms. Badenoch would be correct in calling out racism if that were her attacker's intent. However, Ms. Badenoch is not taking that approach, she is prepared to see the "good in everyone". Others have questioned how committed would she be as a leader. Ms. Badenoch also has children and that would be a distraction for her. However, many leaders who went on to become prime ministers had kids. So, having kids is not necessarily a distraction to high office.
Both Jenrick and Badenoch are on the right, some say far-right, of the party. Ms. Badenoch has taken issue with the new Labour government over banning smoking in beer gardens. Also, introducing a body that would oversee and regulate football (soccer for Americans). As for the UK's National Health Service or NHS, Ms. Badenoch said: "Everything is on the table" (whatever that means!).
Ms. Ridgre asked Badenoch to describe herself. The 'wanna-be' Tory leader said she is "no wallflower" and she is "blunt" and "confident". Asked whether she wanted to be Prime Minister should she become leader, she dodged the question. Possibly because she does not want to come over as arrogant and give her enemies ammunition to say she is arrogant. Also, she has yet to become the Conservative leader let alone prime minister!
Asked what she wanted to see the country becoming she replied: "More Conservative"! That reply would not surprise her more moderate Conservative colleagues or her enemies. As the pin-up girl of the Conservative right that reply would be in line with the right-wing Tory Conservative narrative. Badenoch had another female right-wing opponent Priti Patel but she was knocked out of the race early. Another prospective lady on the right was Suella Braverman. However, for one reason or another, she never stood.
The Conservative Party is the only party to have female leaders and Prime Ministers. Yes, the SNP had Nicola Sturgeon and the current First Minister of Wales is female but they are answerable to Westminister. One cannot forget Margaret Thatcher who dominated British politics between 1979 and 1990. Thatcher remains a controversial figure to this day. You either loved her or hated her. Then we had Theresa May who many thought would be another Thatcher but that didn't happen. Then there was the ill-fated Liz Truss who was outdone by a lettuce (read her story it's out there). No doubt, Badenoch hopes to ape Margaret Thatcher. She certainly will not wish to ape Truss or May.
Right now it does not matter who becomes Tory leader. They will face 5 years in opposition. The country is under the leadership of Sir Keir Starmer with a huge majority in parliament. Whether Badenoch or Jenrick becomes leader is a matter for the Tory members.
