From nobody to Madrid Hopefuls

Real Madrid 5-1 Celtic in the Champions League, with Luka Modric, Rodrigo, Marco Asensio, Vinicius and Valverde contributing.

"It was a good game and we did a good job," said Valverde, who was named MVP of the game. When things don't happen, everything seems negative. I'm a bit tired but my goal is to help others and score goals and leave everything behind. A lot of people around me are right and I have to take advantage of the opportunities I have." "I like to shoot instep shots, that's my strength, but today I used the inside of my foot. My teammates joked that one day I would break the ball. No matter who plays, you have to fight for the title."

Ahead of the national Derby, Real Madrid midfielder Ernesto Valverde spoke to Movistar+ about his expectations for the match, saying the team is full of passion.

About the national Derby

Ernesto Valverde: "We are motivated and passionate and we really want to show in this game that we want to win the league, even though there are a lot of games left, it is a very important game and we know it is crucial. If we win, it will be a motivation for us, we will be proud and move on. We have to focus on winning, enjoying the support of the fans, making them happy and hopefully giving them a good game."

About the 4-0 defeat to Barcelona last season

Valverde: "You never like to lose these types of games. You can make a lot of excuses, but I'm not going to do that. We swallowed that loss and got back up and improved."

Valverde: "I have known him for a few years now, I see him every day and he is focused on continuing to score goals and win titles. He will always give us advice from a captain's point of view and I hope he gets the Ballon d 'Or, which is something he wants very much."

Valverde has also played for many of La Liga's top teams, including Athletic Bilbao, Barcelona and Espanyol.

Valverde's time at Mallorca was one of the least known, but he chose to retire here.

After becoming a coach, Valverde had two spells in charge of Bilbao, his first team as manager.

Valverde also coached the former Espanyol, who did not play for Wu Lei at the time, and few Chinese fans paid attention.

Valverde's tenure at Villarreal was short-lived, lasting just one season.

There was also a season at Valencia, though Valverde's record there was slightly better than his time in charge of the Submarine.

Valverde later moved to Greece to coach Olympiakos, and there are still videos of him taking the Greek challenge online. Valverde's Olympiakos are the strongest side of the century so far, having beaten Jurgen Klopp's Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

It was only when he became Barca's manager that Valverde became a frequent target of criticism from fans. Valverde, pictured here with then-Espanyol coach Ruby, both worked for the other team. It's like you're in me, you're in me.

Although his tenure at Barcelona did not end well, there is no denying that Valverde is a good coach

Just hours before the match, Valverde was at home with his son Bessinho when the Real Madrid star picked him up and sucked him up as if he were his pet. Minaj documented the heartwarming moment and shared it on social media with the caption: 'The way we inspire.' Valverde, who has scored one goal and provided one assist in 36 appearances for Real this season, started the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals as they beat Chelsea 3-1 away.
