Three things that ruin mental health

Life is not what it seems.

Psychiatric problems such as depression and anxiety are becoming increasingly common in modern society and seriously affect the normal functioning of patients, families, and even society. The number of incidences is increasing, but the causes of depression and anxiety are not well established until now. Studies have concluded that genetic, neurological, and personality factors can influence the onset of the disease. There is also a very important factor - psychosomatic factors, that is, a person's encounter, psychological state, and the onset of depression, anxiety disorders have a direct relationship, the most common are "three things": annoying things, painful things, and nothing to do.

Troublesome things - long-term chronic stress, entanglement. Many people have this experience: daily trivial worries overwhelm their breath, irregular diet, sleep at night, daytime irritability and anxiety, restlessness; others will appear tired, concentration problems, memory loss, reduced work efficiency, and other symptoms. "Most people under long-term, chronic stress will produce anxiety, which may gradually evolve into depression if not regulated in a timely and proper manner. Chronic stress from chores can lead to an excessive stress response in the body, elevated levels of stress hormones, and changes in depression-related neurotransmitters such as 5-hydrocortisone and dopamine in the brain, putting the risk of developing depression at increased risk. Some of the behaviors and thinking patterns that occur when stress is excessive, such as nagging, worrying, sleepless nights, lack of food and drink, and lack of socialization and exercise, can further contribute to the development of psychological problems.

Painful events - major blow. The phrase "broken heart" is not just a metaphor; when experiencing a major event that makes people very sad, many people will truly feel "heartache" and "heartbreak". If you can not dissipate this pain, it is easy to develop psychological problems, especially depression. In addition to natural disasters and childhood trauma, divorce, the death of a loved one, unemployment in mid-life, and loss of money are the most common major blows in the general population. In clinical practice, depressed patients who have suffered a major blow will express their feelings this way: "The whole body is like a hollowed-out shell, and it takes a lot of effort to do anything, even breathing is a very exhausting thing." This state, it usually takes two years to gradually return to normal.

Doing nothing - lacking a sense of meaning. that in recent years, he has seen more and more depressed patients in the clinic who have no obvious external adverse stress or suffered a major blow but have depressive symptoms such as diminished interest, a sense of worthlessness, a sense of meaninglessness, a condition that occurs at a higher rate among elderly people living alone. This type of depression is medically classified as "endogenous depression" and is mainly caused by deprivation in the spiritual world, lack of social interaction, and lack of goals in life. Patients tend to feel a lack of joy in life, an inexplicable emptiness, meaninglessness, pessimism, depression, self-guilt, and sleep disturbances, like a "hollow heart disease".

Adverse life events and psychological states are indeed important causative factors of anxiety and depression, but life is not as good as it should be, and we cannot escape all the bad things in life. Therefore, it is especially important to learn to prevent bad things from hitting your spirit and know how to self-regulate. Doing the following 4 things can help alleviate bad feelings and nip psychological problems in the bud in time.

1. Develop a good character. This starts with the baby. Cultivating good character requires a warm, loving family environment. Parental discord and domestic violence are bound to hurt the formation of a child's character. And for adults, realize that they have character defects, try to create a good living environment for themselves, such as making more mentors and friends, and strive to go to a healthy competitive work environment.

2. Talk more. Active confession, and talk, can free themselves from the closed world of individuals, and will not be a person into the bull's eye, the more you think about the more tangled. Even just whining, but also allows you to vent in time, from a bad mood. Now the white-collar work pressure, you can often get together with relatives and friends to talk and relieve stress.

3. Control emotions. In addition to turning to friends, but also learn to self-adjustment, and to be a person who knows how to manage emotions. For example, when you want to get angry, immediately remind yourself to count from 1 to 10, and give yourself a 10-second buffer time, the fire may not be so big. When sad, you can try to adjust your breathing, and let yourself slowly calm down. If you can, crying out loud is also a very effective way to vent.

4. Seek help from a psychologist. When the negative emotions affect you for more than two weeks, you have been unable to adjust, but also more and more serious, do not carry on alone, find a professional psychologist to talk to, and you can get more effective help to relieve stress.
