Anorexia
It's your life. You can't let your mental illness control it. I've been there. Struggled, but at the same time became friends with Anorexia. She was my best friend. She was my only friend. She controlled what I ate, but not only; she controlled my thoughts and every aspect of my life.

: Treading Water, the Invisibility of Suicide :
Suicide isn't wanting to die for some people. Suicide is wanting to live so desperately but not being able to stand another moment of pain & suffering that your life has become, scrambling through your mind for every positive you possibly can find daily to why you should try and push on yet another day.

Why Anger Can Be a Primary Emotion
In the mental health field, many clinicians believe that anger is a mask or secondary emotion for another underlying emotion like sadness or fear. I do think there is some emotional suppression on the part of the clinician to not acknowledge anger as a primary emotion. One major component of mental health awareness is to start where the client is, and make sure they are able to express all emotions. Whether an emotion is primary or secondary can create a sense that one emotion is more important than the other. In reality, all emotions are key and crucial in healing. The real issue is how to help a person heal and release emotions in a healthy way.

Jarrid Wilson, Depression and the Church Celebrity Culture
I heard the news today, oh boy… Jarrid Wilson, 30 y/o pastor commits suicide… had battled depression for years and it finally overcame him. What a world we live in right? What a strange Christian industry we have created… I’m sure the guy must have felt the pressure to put on a brave face, be the strong young pastor with the bright future ahead. I read he started a ministry to reach out to those who struggled with the things he struggled with, but it all became too much.

Don’t Call Me Crazy
It’s painful. What I’m feeling right now as I type this... The feeling of not knowing the response I’ll get. The fear of judgement and being looked at as “crazy”. Something's wrong. I’m not quite sure what it is, but I can tell you about when it all started... Later. For now, just read on, because I’d like to share a story with you...

Honest About Mental Illness. Top Story - August 2019.
There's a certain strength that comes along with being honest about where you need to be met. I've not had much trouble throughout my life being open about my chronic physical illnesses. Most of the time, I've not had a choice in being straightforward about what I need and what my limits are, as feeling like total trash is often very hard to hide.
