Emetophobia
Emetophobia: Extreme fear of vomiting I wouldn't wish this phobia on anyone. At a young age I developed a phobia of throwing up. As a young kid, you can find it to be a pretty common thing that kids do. I can't remember a traumatic experience that I might have had when I was younger that would have caused this, all I know is that it drastically changed my life.

Sometimes I feel like a fish...
When I had my 20 gallon aquarium in my home years ago, I would sit and watch the fish swim back and forth for hours at a time. I loved the sound of the moving water through the filter, watching them gracefully glide through the water, and even the distinct smell of fishiness was relaxing to me. One day that all changed though as I contemplated my life. I mean, I still love watching the fish swim back and forth, but I can't help make comparisons to how I feel some days...

Letter to the Editor
Hi, most people know me better as my online alias and pen name: The Schizophrenic Mom. I had no intention of writing this to my hometown paper as I appreciate my anonymity online – and the freedom I have to talk about my disability without fear of retribution. However, part of my goal is to educate people and I see a big education gap in the rural midwest.

The Elusive Feeling of Being Energetic
Feeling empowered gives you a boost towards achieving your goals and dreams. (Photo: sasing on Pixabay) This will be a bit of a personal post. I have had a difficult year for various reasons, but they all combined were leaving me totally drained and, at times, unable to take care of my home properly, and I had to take a prolonged sick leave. This was not fun.

We Were Forced To Get Naked in Junior High
One thing about my awkward junior high years I’ll never understand was being forced to shower after class in P.E. At the height of our 6th and 7th-grade insecurity, someone on the school board thought, “Hey. How can we make these kids’ awkwardness any worse? Oh yeah, let’s force them to get naked and shower in front of each other.”

Just Another Visit
It was late September when I was surprised by one of his spontaneous visits; I had been practicing hurdles and 200-meter sprints with my track coach after school with my teammates. Some of my friends were smiling and their eyes twinkled as they looked past my shoulders, curious I spun around.

My Thoughts about 'Geek Girls Don't Cry'- part one
Can I say this out loud? Wow! This book is incredible! Incredibly well-done! Great for all ages of girls & women. I got a copy of this book before my 31st birthday. Back in the Holidays of 2018, I saw some updates about that new book that Marisha Ray & Andrea Towers are doing something about how to be a strong & an amazing role model in real life just like the pop culture heroines. I’m like Marisha, I had been through so many gender stigmas about games & superheroes. I grew up with all kinds of outstanding things including NES (Nintendo Entertainment System), Power Rangers, X men, etc. I would like to share how I overcame my fears, trauma, isolation, grief, and adversity after I read each chapter from Geek Girls Don’t Cry. Ready? Here we go!
