A box filled with Hearts!

Joy to the world. Peace. Goodwill to all that breathes the breath of life.

WILL. noun (MENTAL POWER) the mental capacity used to control and direct your thoughts and actions, or a determination to do something, despite any difficulties or opposition.

It seems that someone somewhere had indeed been listening to my plea to help me spread some holiday cheer. For just one day, I asked, let all hearts across the world be filled with love, peace, harmony and good will. Maybe, just maybe, that one day will become the norm for the many more to come. People will find joy and light, and again delight in the little things that makes one become enchanted in accomplishing the really great big things. I asked for a reawakening of the senses to the serene and calming beauty in the wonderous beauty of mother nature herself. The sky, the sea, the trees, the hearts of our people, green grass kissing our bare feet as we run in wild abandonment through the fields of life.

As I walked, lost in thought, towards my doorstep, I beheld a mechanical bird flying towards my door. The timing making me wonder if it had been waiting for me. Within it's grasp was a perfectly wrapped brown squared box. This package was deposited outside my door, and the bird flew away. Now, I wondered, who would be sending me a box transported by a red drone, a most unusual color for such a thing, red being the first color of the rainbow, demanding one's full attention. It could also mean danger. I decided to take my chances and accept it, give in to the impulsive nature of the color red.

"This is what you asked for", were the only markings on the package. What did I ask for that came in a box, I wondered. On opening the lid, I beheld another lovely heart shaped box within, and a note.

"Do not open until you find the highest point within your reach, underneath the moonlit sky this night. As you slowly open the lid, into the world will soar joy, love, caring, happiness and the return of peace to all on earth. To each is given a choice to use these attributes from here on into many tomorrows. When one has done their best, none can ask of them more. It is their choice to continue on to higher goals and ideals. A wish you desired. A most sincere wish has been granted".

Wheresoever came this box, the sender knew that the moon would be full, out of character with the quarter moon of the nights prior.

A beautiful garden is planted atop the roof of the building in which I live. We, the occupants, take turns with pride, in watering the herbs and floral varieties. At a quarter to midnight, Christmas eve, I climbed the stairs with the box still unopened as asked. Believing with great faith and will, that my wish would be granted, I stood beneath the lovely orange glow of the bright full moon, looking up in awe and wonder at the stars filling the glorious heavens.

An article had appeared earlier in the online universe. It read:

"For the first time in 38 years there will be a full moon shining down on us this Christmas. The previous full moon on Christmas fell on 1977, the year the first Star Wars was released and Jimmy Carter was in the White House. Take the opportunity before opening presents to step outside and appreciate our unique place in the solar system.

December’s full moon, the last of the year, is called the Full Cold Moon because it occurs during the beginning of winter. The moon’s peak this year will occur at 6:11 a.m. EST.".

I was ready. The box was opened, and lo and behold, peace like a river washed over my soul. I fell to the ground in awe, I looked and saw tiny hearts floating high and low, here and everywhere, higher and higher into the sky they rose, so many, more than the world could possibly count. There would be enough for everyone.
