“Cheers.” Will was holding out an unsleeved coffee cup, face full of pleasantries and ease. This was her first time meeting Will. Will, who was a middle school teacher with an exuberant, wide smile and a faded purple scar above his right collarbone. Will had ordered a matcha latte, not coffee. She insisted on paying, so he had contributed generously to the tip jar. He was gingerly uncovering his drink now - setting aside the lid bearing tufts of green foam.

Borderline Personality Disorder
I can go for weeks at a time, occasionally months without feeling the shift. For anyone who ever wants to know what Borderline Personality Disorder feels like, it feels like pain ultimately, often chronic and varying in body location from person to person.

The Narcissist's Game
We've all heard the term 'narcissist.' We know that, generally speaking, the term narcissist refers to someone who is considered selfish, someone who only cares about themselves. But there is so much more to it than that. Narcissists are a whole different breed who play a game of emotional manipulation in order to lure in their unsuspecting victims. Narcissistic abuse doesn't have to be physical, but the emotional and mental abuse can be severely damaging to the victim's psyche. There are some red flags to look out for, yet even if the victim sees these flags, the narcissist has ways to use those warning signs to their advantage as well.

Living on the Borderline
Many believe that those with Borderline Personality Disorder are narcissistic individuals. This is simply untrue. I started my journey into therapy many years ago. I have been through DBT, and have come out on the other side with not only a better understanding of myself, but also understanding others that struggle with life long disorders similar to mine.

OCD or OC...Me
I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Or as it's more commonly known: OCD. I was not diagnosed, officially, until I was in my mid-twenties. However, it wasn't until just a week ago that I truly understood what it meant, besides the glaringly obvious fact that I will pull my hair straight out of my head if not medicated properly. (Trichotillomania is the official term. It's a subset of OCD)

Running from Eggshells
Running around the park, I probably look like a madwoman for anyone who cared to pay any attention. I don’t care. I just need to get away. As far and as fast as my feet can carry me, I just need to get away. I run and keep running my laps around the track until my exhaustion finally beats out my will and I collapse onto the ground gasping for breath. I flip into my back and sprawl out looking up into the sky, the tear stains drying on my cheeks.
