Now that i'm not getting high. WTF is there to do?
So let me tuck this little nugget to bed right here and now. Just because you or someone in your life has decided to jump on the sober train, that does not mean its time to curl up and binge watch ourselves into oblivion. With summer coming up and restrictions going down here's a top 5 of things we can do to keep that motivation up and boredom away, because if there's one thing that is terrible for anyone in recovery its boredom. I have personally relapsed in my past over pure fucking boredom. Its like your sitting there watching TV for the ten millionth hour. Time starts going backwards. The Mickey on your watch looks like he's smoking a pipe, its only 2 o clock. Your mind starts wandering, thoughts start swirling. Bad thoughts, trouble filled thoughts. Nothing good can come from these thoughts. but then the voice starts. its just a whisper at first. Lets get high. it says. I actually laugh out loud. That's a joke i think to myself. "Why not"? whispers the voice. "It'll be fun". Seriously I think. "Sure. It's been awhile" whispers the faint faint voice. It has been awhile I think almost in unison. And then...fast forward five years. WTF I cant not live like this one more fucking minute.

So, You Got Fat: 8 Steps Towards Body Liberation
It’s not easy to move from a life of embracing and buying in to diet culture to one where you appreciate your body for what it is. We live in a culture in which expectations are placed upon our bodies before we are even born (think gender reveals). Where my children’s BMI, an outdated and inaccurate gauge of health, has been printed on their pediatric after-visit summaries from the age of 2. Where my girlfriend, a dancer in a non-traditional dancer body, realized that the first time she looked at a photo of herself and thought she looked fat, she was only five years old.

The Employers Discrimination (Not Today - Thankyou)
Ok from the start, it is important that everyone knows just what this is all about. The subject of Dyscalculia is not as widely out there as it should be. particularly not out there with employers (given the advancements in technological leaps) and the support that these technologies can provide in ways of supporting people with this disability. This disability can actively intrude upon all aspects of a sufferer's daily life involving anything to do with the cognitive functioning surrounding mathematically-based concepts – such as 'telling the time', 'counting money', & whilst 'performing mental calculations.' (The latter one causing the most destructive feature) An everyday working example of this is 'knowing how much change to expect from the shopkeeper when paying with cash.' A person with this disability can easily be short-changed; either accidentally or on purpose.

Anxiety Is in Your Body, Not Your Mind
Let's go back to 60,000 years. Assume you're a Neanderthal out for a walk in the countryside. Suddenly, you hear a tiger in the surrounding bushes. Your entire body begins to respond in a nanosecond. Your heart beats faster, your breathing becomes shallower, your eyes dilate, and your body begins to produce adrenaline.

When life throws a stumbling block .....
Hitting a stumbling block does not mean that you have stunted your growth process, what it means is that you have reached a chapter in your life that requires a lot more work to unlock, it also means that this chapter requires you to focus a little bit more. A stumbling block is similar to a speed hump. How many of you visited Tobago Plantations? while driving you cross about ten to twelve speed humps and it doesn’t matter what entrance you take to get there the humps are inevitable. Do you know why? yes! it might be for residential purposes to minimize speed or even for protection. But we don’t see that these humps give us time to appreciate the beauty within the plantation. they give us time to notice the golf course on both sides, it gives us the time to notice that big beautiful sugar mill on the left, it even gives us the time to notice the Lillies pod in the ponds and probably even notice the caiman sunning under the tree. But, most of all ,whether, we take it as torture or pleasure at the end of that road it leads us to the beauty of the hotel we have been anticipating, the pools we have been dying to float in the breeze that we imagine in our hair, the sun we have been dying to feel and that amazing view of the ocean.

The Biggest Ride
This was it. The most daring thing she had ever done. She was incredibly nervous, her stomach filled with butterflies, her hands unable to stop fidgeting, and her thoughts and heart racing. She was with two of her best friends, one of whom was celebrating her birthday. Just minutes earlier, her friends had dared her to go on a huge ride, something she had always refused to do. Ever since her childhood, she always looked on at this long, tall wooden structure whenever she came here and wondered how anyone could go on it without feeling anything other than fear and worry. She asked her friends to reconsider, but in response, they joked they would call her cowardly if she didn’t. She finally gave in, buying her ticket and waiting in the long line, anxiously waiting for this horrifying situation to be over.
