It's The End of the World as We Know It .

The Collective Unlearning .

Releasing stagnation to vibrate into a new reality.

2020 was the year we did not know we needed . It was a complete and utter right hook .. something so rapid and unexpected and profound . 2020 forced us to learn to enjoy being with ourselves , it caused us to realize that life can completely shift right before your eyes #2020Vision.

Suddenly the 12 friends we used to see for Sunday Brunch and the family we would spend Christmas with was a distant memory and showing your smile off was against the "law". Cocktails together past 9 and dancing to live music were non existent (like a modern day version of footloose). Who would think that being able to breathe Big Y air or stand closer than 6 feet from each other would be taboo . Who would think your Monday meetings would be in your underwear and toilet paper would be scarce .

Who knew that the version of the world we saw on TV and the one we saw outside our window could be so vastly different. Who would have thought we would have to literally scream from the roof tops that colored lives also matter and watch our Politicians act like Toddlers fighting over the good seat. Why have we become systemic robots who seem to be on autopilot from 9-5 for 65 years ... and suddenly wake up in 2020 and start to drastically see that paradigm shift.

But Every grey cloud has a silver lining and the pandemonium that 2020 caused was about to project us into something way bigger than ourselves. Something more unified and present , but first we had to isolate and realign.

Reflections.

Offices went virtual and it allowed people more time at home to be with their families. Schooling went virtual and it enabled parents to be hands on in their children's learning and understand first hand their struggles and & successes. We were forced to find hobbies ( because now Applebee's closes at 9 ). We were forced to be more health conscious and conscious of the mental and physical well being of others . We were forced to appreciate the small things , like dinners together or an at home movie night . We were lucky enough to see those most dear to us ( max 10 ) and stay connected with the others virtually . We got to witness some historical ,monumental moments like a female vice president and people coming together to vocalize their beliefs . Social media made it possible for us to have a front row seat to other peoples worlds , their perspectives , their adaptations , & their realizations. Even though the " traditional " news may have depicted a heavy and devised world , there were many other articles and videos being shared that were painting an opposing picture . Though it was different , peoples lives were continuing and they were rapidly adapting to how to find new methods of connection and joy . Being displaced from their areas of comfort and projected into situations unknown, forced us all to realize our resilience and also our priorities but most importantly our obligation to coexist , despite it all .

Go forth joyously and prosper.

Godspeed.
