How to Make Limoncello at Home
It makes sense to learn how to make limoncello if you love the drink. It's not always easy to come by, so why not have it on hand? You have full control over the ingredients, not to mention the strength of the booze. Besides, there's some cachet attached to making your own limoncello. The brew takes a while to mature, however. Getting that potent lemon taste is no overnight job. It's time-consuming, but that's time well spent. Just bear in mind that it doesn't hurt to have a jar (or five) of the lemony liquor seeping at all times. The odds are high that your family members and friends are going to start making requests once they catch wind of your homemade concoction.

How to Shotgun a Beer Using Just Your Thumb
Let's be honest, it's always in your best interest to avoid going to wild parties and grabbing hold of any of the number of sharp objects laying around when somebody asks you, "Yo, you want to shotgun a beer?" Don't think that we don't get it, either. Traditionally, people use a sharp object to poke a hole in a beer to shotgun it. What good is that really though if you're camping in the wilderness or sneaking beers into a movie theater?

How to Make Delicious Punch That Everyone at Your Party Will Love
I love making cocktails for my friends, but things can get a little out of hand at birthday parties and other large gatherings. Between measuring and pouring ingredients, slicing limes and lemons, getting ice, cleaning out the shaker, and everything else that goes into running even a small home bar, it is all too easy to let bartending obligations overtake the fact that I actually want to spend time hanging out with my friends! When you have a dozen people, all of whom will be having at least two or three drinks, take my advice and skip the made-to-order cocktails by making a delicious punch instead. You can make it ahead of time, it is just as delicious and impressive as a single serving cocktail, and there's even some interesting history that you can use as a conversation starter!

How to Make Wine from Grape Juice
The tradition of making homemade wine from grape juice dates back at least to prohibition-era United States, when winemakers would sell blocks of concentrated grape juice with instructions to dissolve them in a gallon of water and a warning: "do not place the liquid into the cupboard for 21 days as it will turn into wine." This warning was actually, of course, poorly-disguised instructions for households to make their own wine during an era when all manner of alcohol was outlawed. This allowed several vineyards to survive the duration of prohibition until they could sell real wine again, and the packages were vague enough that investigators couldn't prove that the grape blocks were intended for anything other than non-alcoholic grape juice.

How to Make a Wine and Cheese Board When You're on a Budget
My dad Devon Thomas has been seeing Chica Reyass for a few months now but they've yet to have the conversation about labels, even though Chica casually refers to herself as my dad's partner. I've read a lot of books about relationships and psychology during lunch (I hide in the library to avoid being bullied), and the consensus is that now's the time for my dad to bring it up.

11 Tips for Getting a Drink in a Crowded Bar
If there's one thing I've learned from being a raver, it's that getting a drink in a crowded bar is absolutely brutal. There are millions of people, all clamoring for the bartender's attention, and you are just one in a bunch of them.

Tips for Passing the Sommelier Certification
Whenever I head out for dinner to a really high-end restaurant, I always fancy the sommeliers that would serve me. They're much more experienced and knowledgeable in wine than anyone I've ever come across. Even the way they served caught my attention because it's so distinct and in the most precise manner. I once went to River Palm Terrance in Edgewater, New Jersey, and the steakhouse is pretty high-end. While the sommelier was serving us wine, he looked at my glass, noticed the smallest speck (I didn't even notice it), and said, "I don't like this glass. I'm going to fetch you a much better one." He returned with the cleanest wine glass I've ever seen and served me my wine.
