This LGBTQ Podcast is Still Making Moves
Francisco and Brendan (better known to listeners as Franny and Brenda) had only hung out with each other casually before starting the Move, I’m Gay podcast in February, 2020. Originally, it was intended to be a show about their love of Britney Spears and dislike for Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop, however, the show has grown beyond their expectations. It has also gained a large following who tune in weekly to listen to the comical comradery between its two seemingly polar-opposite hosts. While Franny dishes on the latest entertainment dirt, and maybe belts out a Top 40 hit or two, Brenda references obscure gay historical facts.

The slow death of the Gay Village
The first time I visited the Gay Village in 2016, it was by accident. At 15-years-old, I stumbled upon the neighbourhood when I took a few wrong turns looking for a thrift store. A sea of colored bulbs and eccentric people welcomed me. Gaggles of gender diverse people chatted in groups, like clusters of wildflowers; unbound by societal pressures. I felt out of place, a stain on their creativity and hyperaware of the disguise I was wearing. I'd managed, so far, to hide my identity from others and even from myself.

Why I Can't Call Myself Agender
When I was a kid, I forget how old, I went to the rugby club with my grandfather because he wanted a pint of beer. It was a familiar place to me because it's where all the birthday parties and seasonal discos were held. I'd been there many times for cake, cheap fizzy drinks, games of musical chairs and endless renditions of the Macarena.

Intersex: The Lost 'I' in LGBTQIA
Intersex is a word most have not heard of, even in the LGBTQIA+ Realm, the "I" is often overlooked, or simply lost. Many not knowing or not understanding what the I stands for. For the few who have heard of Intersex, most directly relate it to Trans, sure some things overlap, but the two are vastly different.

Sherlock Holmes never fell in love.
Before we get started, I’d like to note that Sherlock Holmes is the most frequently adapted fictional character in history. With version upon version, retelling after retelling, potential sequels, extra characters, secret sisters, extraterrestrial and modern day adaptations…...if you can think it up, someone has probably created a Sherlock Holmes reboot to match. And that’s not even touching on the hundreds of characters inspired by or directly based off of this famous detective. So, for the purpose of this piece, I thought it was best to add a disclaimer: These are my opinions. I’m talking about Sherlock Holmes the immortal detective, how I think he was intended to be interpreted, and the themes I see. I’m aware not every retelling fits my interpretation, but I hold the belief that the vast majority of them do.

I Wish I Knew
Trigger warning: Sexual assault, intimate partner abuse Why isn't it more well known that intimate partner abuse is a thing? Why is same sex sexual abuse, in any capacity, seemingly nonexistent? These are both topics I feel need to be discussed more. I wish I would have known that these things happened, and I also wish I'd known that I was dating a monster before I started.
