Young Love

As summer ends...

By Sarah SmithPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Summer washed away in sweet, warm waves;

As footprints across the lonesome shore;

I fell deep into your hearts embrace;

As I never had before.

We danced at the end of summers day;

Swept up in the oceans trance;

For I was soon to go away;

So in the evening sea, we danced.

In waters deep reflection:

We watched the sun sink to meet the sea;

Still, our hearts had changed direction;

Marking the end of summer dreams.

To hold a lover tight through the changing tides;

Only to part ways when young love eventually dies.
