The Dance

Between two souls...

Lay me down to slumber

Without a hint of rest

A mind that runs in circles

As my heart beats out my chest

To lay with you in silence

Staring into empty space

No words need be spoken

As the tears slide down the face

If only for a moment

We'll let our demons dance

Let the rhythm of their pain

Put us in a trance

Empty them from the mind

So maybe we'll lay in peace

Allow their woes to wash

Their sorrow to release

When the time comes

To open our glistening eyes

They'll rush quietly in

Dress us in disguise

The point is not to cleanse

Oneself of all the pain

But instead allow our demons

The chance to dance in the rain

Let yourself be open

Enough to let them see

That there is nothing wrong

With letting oneself bleed
